durable, well made

This back flow preventer was part of a sump pump install I did at my sisters house during repairs after hurricane Sandy. The plastic parts / valve flap are durable heavy plastic. The heavy duty rubber boots on the ends come off and flip around to accommodate various size pipes. The clamps are heavy duty stainless steel. The valve worked perfectly during tests, after a few heavy rain storms and when a new drain pipe from a new clothes washer failed and dumped water into the basement. My sisters house is one block from the Atlantic Ocean in Long Beach NY and salt water and sand are a problem in the basement. Months later and the valve still works as it should. I do suggest you follow building code for your area and directions for both the valve and application you intend on using it for. I have and will recommend this valve to friends and family. The contractor rebuilding the house has taken note of how well the valve is made and will consider using the valve in the future. I must stress that this valve is a key part of a well thought out and designed sump pump system and contributes to its flawless operation.

Little Giant SCV114 1-1/4in. plastic sump check valve

My previous pump went out. So I bought a new one, and this check valve, as I believed that the pump was working too hard because it kept turning on, trying to pump out every inch of water. But some of the water was flowing back into the sump box due to gravity. Since I got this check valve, the pump turns off, and stays off until absolutely needed. I couldn't be happier with it.

Works perfectly

I gave up on check valves several years ago because they jammed up but decided to try this one. Flawless operation. One tip that took me a while to figure out: the flexible connectors on the two ends can be removed and reversed, giving you a choice of connecting to either 1-1/4" or 1-1/2" PVC or ABS.

Can't stop the leaks at the connections.

I can't get the clamps tight enough to stop the leaking. Maybe it's because they are'nt PVC. Make sure you attach this to PVC pipe to make a proper seal. Other than that it does the job.

Not the same product in the picture

Check Valve I received is not the same as what is shown in the picture. The square shape portion of the valve with the screws is not present on the item I received. A sticker has clearly been removed from the Item I can see a portion of it remaining. This item has been repackaged before it was shipped to me.

Pool pump

This wonderful ck valve enables my swimming pool pump to start pumping immediately upon being turned on (pump is 5 ft above water level). Before it would take up to 15 minutes or more. It should be part of every installation.

STOP THE OFF-ON

WITHOUT THIS CHECK VALVE I COULD NOT LEAVE THE SUMP PUMP UNATTENDED. I HAD TO GO OUT IN THE RAIN AN UNPLUG THE ELECTRIC CORD OR THE PUMP WOULD CONTINUE TO PUMP THE BACK FLOW OUT AND IN ALL DAY.

Made installing new pump a breeze

I like that it can be used in line with 1.25” or 1.5” or adapt one to the other. Didn’t have a check valve in my system before and this made it super easy to install my new pump. Just had to cut the pipe and shorten a bit. Will make all subsequent sump pump replacements so much easier as you just need to loosen a clamp to remove.

What can i say. So glad Amazon, which has become a sea of cheaply made chinese crap and exaggerative sellers who deceive....theres one Made in Canada product ( besides Maple Syrup) still for sale on this site. 20.00 IS GOOD FOR A CHECK VALVE that will last several years. Dont hesitate. Also has adapter type rubber connectors will fit 1 1/4 or 1 1/2 pipes

Fittings don't hold the pressure

I've installed the check valve on a 1 1/4" pipe... given the fact that the other end of the valve is 1 1/2" it didn't hold the pressure and come easily out. Would be nice to know upfront what is the recommended pressure it supports before buying it.
