Slightly Distressed Means Slighty Already Been Used

When I ordered this stool I ordered it for the price and the weight limit. Most cheeper stools only had a 225lb weight limit but this stool was more sturdy and had a 275 weight limit. HOWEVER, the description says "Slightly Distressed Black Finish." What they mean is "purposely damaged to make it look used." I wish they had not done this. The stool looks damaged and used. Not very happy about the condition for $60.

Top part had damages

Easy to assemble and very sturdy. However, top part had visible bad cracks out of the box.

Very pleased, nice stool for a reasonable price

We ordered four of these stools. I am quite pleased, I assembled all four by myself in less than 2 hours. Easy to assemble. The wood seems sturdy, there was no damage and I thought the packaging was excellent. I like the wider seat. Great stool for the money and the low profile makes them fit nicely under our kitchen counter. I will review again in a few months to give feedback on how they are holding up.

packaging needs improvement

I ordered two of these stools. One came in badly damaged the other slightly damaged. Was able to touch-up one, sent the scecond back for replacement. The replacement arrived slightly damaged too. The packaging leaves much to be desired! Nice stool for the money. Assembly was not difficult, tools are included in the package. I waited a few weeks to glue the buttons on the screw heads so that I could give the stools a second tighting. We use them every day at a counter height (36") kitchen island.

Not bad for the price

These stools look good, and are fairly comfortable, but you wouldn't want to sit in one for more than an hour. Took me about 15 minutes to put the first one together and about 5 minutes to put the second one together. I feel as though at 53 dollars, they are slightly overpriced. Ours came with some minor damage but I didn't feel like it was bad enough to send them back. That said, it does not affect my rating.

Have low expectations...

I ordered two stools to be a bit of portable extra seating. I took a chance on this product because the reviews were either great great or awful awful. Count my vote as pretty bad but not quite awful. The first stool arrived broken and we returned it for a replacement. That was super easy. Zero hassle. The second one came and was not broken but was a bit chewed up. I took a black sharpie and covered the drips of red paint (pretty random) on the corners and the scratches on the legs. The top had weird circular scratches on the seat which I was able to minimize with a bit of Pledge and my trusty sharpie. Good thing I chose the black stools. The little decorative covers for the screws needed to be superglued in place. They were all completely the wrong size. On the bright side, the stool is exactly the right size for the space I am using it and feels quite sturdy. From a distance they look great. Realistically I paid what...forty bucks for the stool...let's say in this case you get what you pay for...If you have very low expectations then this stool is for you. Hopefully you will get the one that other reviewers thought was super great.

Love Hate relationship with this item

I ordered 4 of these barstools, but were broken. 3 were shipped UPS and 1 by UPS. Both broken items were delivered by UPS. I'm not sure if they were broken in transit or shipped from the manufacturer that way. Amazon will be replacing the first broken item, and I will update this review once it arrives. I gave up on the second item however and am returning for refund. Despite these issues, the 2 chairs that were okay were easy to assemble and they look great under our bar. They are not the most comfortable barstools, but tuck away nicely underneath and are out of the way unless needed. SUGGESTION: Order more than you need and return what you don't need or what is broken.

Sturdy classic black wooden counter stools

Sturdy counter height stools, simple yet modern. Some parts of the wood wasn't fully painted black hence 4 star instead of 5
