Comfortable and secure, with one modification needed. UPDATE: Three years later still working well.
Comfortable and secure. Really helps when every movement causes discomfort. UPDATE 3 YEARS LATER. One minor flaw - this problem existed on my original purchase in 2017, and STILL existed when I bought a second one - three years later! One corner edge - it was on the same section of edge on both models - has some small ends of plastic threads that stick out through the edge binding, that are very very irritating on the skin. It is the lower right corner when the brace is wrapped around you. You don’t notice it unless you put it directly on your bare skin - but that’s often the most convenient way to wear it, beneath all your undergarments! The threads are too numerous, small and fine to be cut or sanded/worn off - but those little things really poke into your skin. The manufacturer has already sewn binding around all the edges to cover this, and it works absolutely fine around most of the edges, but on this small section, it is not effective in covering these irritating things. I found it amazing that this flaw had not been addressed when I got the second one 3 years later! I was able to solve it the first time by running a piece of gaffer’s tape along that edge, to cover those threads, so it wouldn’t irritate my skin. The second time I actually sewed additional cloth binding around that one edge to block the irritating pieces. Both solutions completely solved the issue, and otherwise the brace is very comfortable. It’s why I brought a second one, so I can have a spare when I’m cleaning the first. But I thought it was ironic that this product STILL has the exact same flaw, in the exact same location, 3 years later... they need to either trim the underlying threads better in that spot before sewing on the binding, or sew an extra layer of binding around that section!

Just what I needed. Sometimes, those of us with chronic longterm back issues need something more substantial. Whether you need to get through a painful time and can't just put your feet up for awhile, or you want to participate in something that you just cannot without some real help. This is that brace. It is longer. The support is from the hip to upper torso and all around. It is really adjustable. Once you put it on, you feel you back "unload" which allows you do things you couldn't without it. But support has it down falls, which is why only 4 stars. You an only were it for so long and you need to get out of it. For me, it is nice to know that when I absolutely need my back, I have something in my arsenal that I can use to get me through.

Should have ordered sooner
My back "went out" for the first time last weekend. It didn't say anything, no note, it just left. Abruptly and without hesitation. After several hours of laying on the floor of my living room, I ordered the only lumbar support available on Amazon Now! (Also, a chocolate bar and some icy hot. The chocolate bar was delightful and the icy hot was much needed, but) the "support" I got was just a strip of neoprene with some velcro. As soon as I could see through my delirium I read that the item, despite being touted as a lumbar support was in fact a "waist trainer." It was hot, it offered little support and I don't recommend wearing such a thing after liberally applying icy hot. By this time, I had spent considerable time on the floor and priced out some new carpet that would be much more comfortable to collapse upon if my back decided to step out again. The carpet I chose cost a little more than I would have liked to spend, so I had to save some cash on a better back support. I found this product to be reasonably priced and I could see from the very accurate product images and description, that it would offer significantly more support than the piece of junk on which I'd already wasted some cash. This product is so reasonably priced in fact, that even with one day shipping, the total cost was less than a lot of other options that I believe would not have been as structurally sound, breathable, or properly sized. This product is sturdy, offering firm support, but is also comfortable to wear and really takes pressure off the back. It did not make me more popular or attractive, but I can do cool things like sit up and reach for things. Since I purchased this just as described, quickly shipped, and very helpful product, I've been able to start picking up the pieces one at a time. I only wish I'd ordered this item sooner. Not only because it got my back to come back from a serious bender, but because it gave me the back bone I needed to quit a job that I hate and move to sunny California. Still going to have to redo the carpet before selling the house though.

Very supportive and stays in place
This was a great purchase, I looked at so many and feel i really chose well. It's so strong, as soon as I put it on I feel a great amount of relief in my mid and low back. Once it's on it really holds on and isn't coming off until I take it off. Even when I have to bend it doesn't budge, it is truly great. I'm a large woman and the fact that it is so long in front helps it from rolling, it truly stays in place. I have 3 bad discs, arthritis and sciatic pain and when I put this on I just feel an overall relief of pain and can do the things I need to do. I personally take breaks every hour and take the brace off as well as too much use isn't good either.

This back brace really supports
At first I found this back brace a little difficult because of the straps. However I continued to try it and I realised if you pull the straps to your required position it is amazing. It is the best support I have got. I have about (8) so give it a good go. I have just bought another one for a family member. They are delighted with it. So I can recommend if your suffering like me with a back that cannot be operated on give this brace a try. You won’t be disappointed. Merry Christmas x

Best supportive brace i have found, i have disc degenerative disease and have had back surgery and this is not just very supportive but comfy to wear as it is so deep. Would definitely recommend to anyone who has back issues.
