Very cute puppet, but it seems materials has changed.

The media could not be loaded. I purchased two of these puppets (one in 2013) and one recently. It's probably the next best thing to getting a real Sea Otter. I loved the first one so much that I purchased a second as it was starting to get worn out. Mines has been a faithful travel companion and my niece and friend's children are so amused by it. I know the care instructions say surface clean only, but I've successfully hand wash/ bathe them several times usingForever New Fabric Care Wash 32 oz. soap and drying it with a hair dryer or fan (you do this at your own risk). The newest addition is still very cute, but I noticed that the materials have changed dramatically from the original one (the patent numbers are different when examined closely). I haven't tried washing it yet, but the whiskers, nose, ears, and feet are noticeably different. The new puppet's material feels a bit cheaper and thinner (see video). I really hope it lasts because the first one was so durable and well made like the other Folkmanis puppets I've gotten in the past.

Amazingly Detailed Puppet!

When I was little, and when my son was little, we loved puppets. They amaze babies! So, for my new son's first Christmas, I was on a quest to find him a puppet. There are a lot out there, but they all seemed to have ok reviews, and wasn't quite what I was looking for. Then I stumbled on Folkmanis puppets and fell in love! We just moved to California and we are fascinated by the otters in the bay, and so this looked like the perfect puppet for my little one! I read the reviews saying that it was for small hands and little children's hands, so I was hesitant to get this in fear that my or my husband's hands wouldn't fit it. It can rapid fast, and when we opened it and tried it out on Christmas day, it fit my hands and everyone else's perfectly! (I am 5'7", my hubby is 5'10" and my dad is 6', so we are not petite people) My 4 month old son was absolutely entranced by the otter, and was constantly grabbing at it and touching its fur. Everyone was in agreement that the puppet was made with very high quality workmanship and materials, and was definitely worth the extra money vs other puppets out there!

Not meant to be a dog toy, but my dog not meant to be a dog..

Thought it would be bigger. However it’s cute and durable enough so far. Hand puppet Sea otter that I gave to my doggie(my kid to me) is by far his favorite toy. Tore out eyes and played with so much that I aI washed too many time and it’s looking really bad. So I replaced (so I thought) with what we are calling the baby otter baby otter. Can’t throw away old one because he still loves it.

Great puppet from a great manufacturer.

These are definitely puppets made for kids hands. If you’re an adult trying to entertain, expect a tight fit. All the same, these are high quality puppets: the otter for sure, but check out the brands stock the variety in type and performance style are really exciting.

A very sweet, furry friend

My 18 moth old LOVES her baby otter. She squeals whenever we play with it, and she hugs it all the time. A very sweet, furry friend. The mouth is a bit hard to operate, but I think it's cuter with mouth shut anyways.
