A hard worker
I don't feel the least bit silly to write a review about trash bags. I have a very large trash barrel and it is difficult to find a size bag that will fit around the circumference. Different brands actually have different widths even though they purport to be the same capacity and it is a struggle to insert a bag securely into the trash container. I am constantly putting a lot of dead organic material in this container/bag and as often as not the bag breaks open in one manner or other. I read many a review on Amazon regarding trash bags and decided to try this one. I am very glad that I did. This bag easily encompasses either a round trash barrel or a square type. I can load all types of debris including dead branches, twigs, wood chips, pebbles, etc and with no tearing or bursting which is important because the sanitary company that services this area simply leaves behind any containers that are not intact. I think this particular bag is capable of holding a tremendous amount of trash without bursting or tearing and I am very glad I made this purchase.

Satisfied with the thickness!
There's a lot out there who will claim their product is "Heavy Duty". But you don't really know until you get it. First of all if you see a heavy duty liner that's less than 1mil thick, that's not gonna be good. I've seen heavy duties that are 0.65mil thick... This is 1.5mil and puncture resistant. You can usually tell the quality when you try to stretch the plastic. This stretches a little bit if you really force it. But it is high quality and I would say this is a mid-tier industrial type bag. There are some really heavy duty bags that are 3-4mil thick. 4mil bags are really thick! There is no way you can stretch a 3-4 mil bag even if you put all your muscle into it. Will keep buying more of these! Good price too.

Not sure why it has seemed difficult to find the big 45 gallon garbage bags - either the local retailers don't have anything larger than 35 gallon, or the plastic is not nearly "heavy-duty" to hold 45 gallons of garbage. These are nice and thick and fit an outdoor garbage can perfectly.

These used to be good.
7/24/2018 UPDATE. The quality of these bags seems to have decreased. They don't feel as thick and now I'm noticing that they tear. These used to be the best trash bags. I noticed the color changed from a very dark grey to black. Guessing they are cutting corners by using a cheaper plastic. Time to find a new trash bag again. These bags are a great size for our Simple Human trash can and they hold up when over stuffed. Wish my neighbors across the street would use decent trash bags like these. Do yourself, and possibly your neighbors, a favor and get yourself a quality trash bag that can be stuffed without worrying about tears.

these bags are normally really excellent.
Maybe it's just me and I ordered the wrong bags this time, but I have been buying these trash bags for years now, and just this time these bags seem so thin and flimsy. I have ripped through two of them now. Hoping my next order is the usual bags I'm used to. Otherwise, 5 stars...these bags are normally really excellent.

Genuine Joe trashbags are our GO TOs for EVERYTHING! For our primary house, for yard waste, for our rental homes, for cat litter boxes- everything! They're tough, they don't tear, they're reliable. I will never buy a Glad or any other brand of trash can liner again!
