Helps protect hair

I like all Olaplex products. The hair mask is amazing. This shampoo is fine. I use it in rotation with other repairing/protecting shampoos for my thinning hair. I do sense it is providing my hair with good protection, but I gave four stars because it's not emollient enough without having to apply a conditioner. And that means too much money for me to also purchase its conditioner mate. I feel the shampoo could be more moisturizing. I use other conditioners after shampooing, whereas other protective $$ shampoos I use don't need it. So I use it to continue the wonderful repair quality Olaplex provides after using the repair mask (No. 3) about 2x a week. For Olaplex products, a little goes a long way, so that's a plus!

Do not buy

My husband bought me a set of the shampoo, conditioner, and a bond maintenance treatment. I used the products consistently. I could not figure out why my hair, which had been down to the middle of my back, kept breaking. No split ends, it literally would just break off. I rarely use heat (maybe blow dry with a high-quality dryer twice a week) so it didn't make sense. I ended up stumbling upon a reel that discussed that thousands of women have been having similar issues. I then found out, it's all over TikTok and in Facebook groups as well: Olapex is destroying women's hair. My hair broke in the middle of it- to the point where my mid-back hair had a spot in the middle that had broken almost to my shoulders. I ended up getting it all cut off, and I can only pray that now that I stopped using these awful products things will get better. I had heard that the formula changes as the company was bought out, so maybe that is the issue. Not sure because I had successfully used this in the past. Either way, if you love your hair- steer clear and check out the TikTok and Facebook groups.

Amazing!

I am really pleased with this product. I had seen it at a local beauty store for twice the amount Amazon is selling it for. Initially I bought the travel size but even those were ridiculously priced. So as usual I thought to check Amazon. And low and behold there it was! My hair was becoming so brittle and the split ends were terrible! With one use I could tell this shampoo and conditioner were very different than what I had been using. I’m also trying not to wash my hair everyday, because I’ve noticed as I’ve gotten older daily washing dries my scalp and starts itching. With this shampoo I can go 3 days without washing it and it still looks amazing. I also tried No03 of Olaplex. It helps to repair the damage to your hair from heat styling. That really made a difference. I’ve been using for about 4 weeks now and I really love how my hair is looking now. Great product!

It Actually Works - I’m Shocked

A combination of overuse of dry shampoo and wearing my hair in a tight bun everyday left my hair in absolute shambles. It was always dry and brittle when I got it wet, and would start breaking off when I brushed it. Bought this product and for the first time in about a year, my hair feels hydrated and combs through easy when wet. It’s a miracle!

Hair feels so much healthier

I've used it 3 times now and I could tell a difference the first time using it. I have colored my hair a lot and it was dry and very damaged. My hair feels so much softer, smoother, and looks fuller and healthier. I have had trouble with an itchy scalp and this has soothed it. Would highly recommend this product

It Works for Me

With all the lawsuits and complaints about #4&5, I have to say I have really liked the result s from using this shampoo and conditioner (only on ends of find frizzy hair). It brings out the natural wave and last a full 2 weeks until next wash. Yes, I have dry hair (not colored or permed or much heat) and only wash every 2 weeks. I am discontinuing use at present because of all the hype (see Facebook) about the damage it can cause but as soon as I am convinced the product is ok I will resume use as I really did like it and it hasn't caused any damage to my hair that I can see or tell or hair loss.

Makes my hair silky and soft

I was hesitant to buy because there were reviews about hair loss. I researched the product and saw that very few people had this problem. I have not had additional hair loss at all. I had my color done by a stylist and it fried my hair. Since I've started using this product the softness and shine has come back. I love this product. I'm using 4&5

Don’t buy it’s fake!

Fake product do not buy! This has made my hair feel horribly dry and frizzy. This was my first time attempting to use olaplex and it’s clear this is not a genuine product as I now cannot even run my fingers through my hair.

Wouldnt be without it

A hairdresser literally ruined my hair by over processing it. My hair was breaking off at an alarming rate until I started using this shampoo every day. It seems expensive but my last bottle lasted around 6 months. You only need a sixpence piece sized blob of shampoo to achieve a rich lather. My hairdresser has remarked on the improved condition of my hair. I also use the conditioner too.

BELIEVE THIS TO BE A FAKE

I have been using this shampoo for about 3 months and I have seen ZERO improvement to my hair! Whenever I’ve been to the hairdresser and she’s used Olaplex on my hair I have noticed the lasting difference with just one use... this just has to be a fake- such a shame to have spent this money on it. Hopefully by writing this review other people won’t make the same mistake

Tremendous

After a disastrous time with my hair coming out, I have used this consistently for six months now and it’s restored my hair to its former shine and healthy looking ways. If it seems expensive, please remember you only need an extremely small amount and this gives a tremendous lather. Smells lovely too. I won’t use anything else now. Most highly recommended.
