Sturdy, long lasting, fashionable frames

I already have a pair of these frames with bifocals that I got years ago from Lenscrafters. I wanted a second pair as the first pair is wearing out finally. These frames are sturdy. They are made of metal instead of plastic. The temples do hold tightly to your head. If you like the snug effect, then these are great for you. If you rather have something that hooks behind the ear then you'll want something else. I have had my first pair for years. They are the longest lasting frames that I have ever had.

Comfy and long lasting.

Bought them for my husband. He absolutely loves them. He had a pair for 7 yrs and they finally gave out. Believe me he put them through the ringer. So I bought him the same exact ones and he’s so so happy.

Metal frame not durable

I bought this eyeglasses frame 8 months ago to replace one pair that only lasted about a year (i.e. 2 pairs in less than 2 years!). The same mode of failure in both cases: an internal piece broke at the hinge disconnecting the temple from the head piece. (the spring hinge is the small piece between the broken arm and the head piece in the second picture). The first time I though I had inadvertently broken the hinge while it was inside my jacket. But this time I felt the tension at one arm released while wearing the eyeglasses. No sudden or rough movement. The hinge just snapped. It seems the spring hinge that gives the snug fit I loved about the frame cannot withstand the tension frequently applied to expand and collapse the arms, and once the mechanism is damaged it's very, very difficult to repair. The frame looks really nice and very stylish but because of its limited durability is not worth the price.

Great overall, but....

These are really nice frames, but they hurt the tops of my ears! I've had them for a few days so maybe I'm still getting used to them. Overall solid construction and very stylish. The parts surrounding the lenses have a slight tilt upwards on the outside part and I actually like that a lot. I'd recommend these, but would definitely warn about the sore ears. :) Thanks Oakley!
