Had my doubts

I first ordered a “like new” mat that arrived with a big brown stain on the canvas trim. Issued a return but the quality appeared good, with a tight weave, as I wanted, so I repurchased a new one. The new one arrived yesterday so tightly rolled that it practically rolled itself back up when I tried to lay it flat. I rolled it the opposite direction, placed it upside down with a few weights on the corners for a few hours, took a blow dryer to the back side, but it still refused to lay remotely flat. As a last attempt, I rolled it one last time, opposite of how it was shipped but according to Nuloom’s suggestion of rolling at a diagonal, positioned so it couldn’t unravel and left it overnight. This morning it laid almost flat, with one corner a bit lifted. I got the 2x3 size to use next to my backdoor. I had planned to order a larger size for my front entrance but fear the steps I needed to take to get the small one flat would be much harder with a larger size. It is extremely stiff and stubborn but looks nice as an entry rug if you can get it flat.

Okay

It's a nice rug for the money. It has a strong jute smell out of the bag, but that's expected. My disappointment is the "non-skid" description. I bought this to give my dogs some traction in a walkway with wood floors but it slides around a lot. The little rubber nubs on the back are extremely small and do not grip the floor at all. I'll have to get a separate product to get it to stay in place. It also came with a small cut in the boarder fabric but it's on the back so not worth returning because of that.

Rug end still curling

I love the look and feel of this rug. The only issue I currently have after a couple weeks of owning it, is that one end of the rug is still curling up and causing a trip hazard. I’ve had it taped down and it still is curling. I have ordered carpet tape which I hope will solve this issue.

Great rug but...

The rug is well built and works well. However, there are 2 things you should be aware of: 1. The actual size is approximately 3"-4" smaller than stated. This actually worked better for me in the space I used it in. 2. The rug is rolled very tightly for shipping. Now, 2 months later the ends are still curled. I've left weight on the ends but to no avail. I'm thinking I'm going to need to use double-sided tape to hold the ends down until gravity hopefully makes them flat.

Works For The Price

I looked for a lower priced jute rug for weeks. This was the best deal that I found. We had some trouble, but nothing life changing. The rug took a lot of coaxing to smooth and flatten out. I ended up finally buying adhesive pads for the bottom of the rug. The corners have already frayed from use.

Great rug. Great quality. Delivered right to my front door in two days!

OK so I got this around on the beginning of December as I knew I was having holiday visitors. I love the rug it's a different size than I would normally buy and I thought it was perfect for the busy tile. Looked at every store imaginable as I usually buy everything on Amazon but because this was a really unique and different size I needed to look at a lot of places. I read that other people said the same thing about the corners not staying down flat.I have actually had it turned upside down with heavy weight on that one side that the corners just don't seem to want to lie flat… This has helped immensely although still as you can see by the pictures it is not completely flat I did purchase some of that special tape for rugs( I will see if I can add an additional picture) purchased at Lowe's or Home Depot to keep that side down as you can tell from the picture I have an actually done that yet. On my to do list LOL but the rug itself is amazing. Weight It was good. Made very well. A light sweep or a light vacuum is all you would need to clean it ( I actually just shake mine out As it is an extremely manageable size and I am in my 50s) I have bought numerous rugs from the same company in different styles and I have always had good results. I think if you're hesitating give it a try the tape is cheap and other than that we've got something that looks like it's going to stay in good shape especially for a high traffic area like a front foyer I got nothing for writing this but I know how much truthful reviews help me in my decision making. And let's be honest we can tell which ones are truthful for the most part. And hence the reason why my family and myself have gone to the point especially over the past year although we have been ordering with Amazon and through Amazon prime for years and years now probably since inception! In the last year or two we have started buying absolutely everything from Amazon including everything from Pats to even started buying our clothes and shoes… The main reason? The return policy! The ease with returning is unbelievable even large items… Make sure you check out third seller return Policies I must have UPS pull up to my house and drop off at least one package at least five days a week… And then one of the things that keeps me coming back is just how easy it is to drop off without a label that UPS they printed up right there you're in and out so why not try it why not have brought right to your front door instead of searching through local places… Instead of having something that afternoon and that's if you can possibly find something you'll have it at your front door In most cases in a day or most likely two days. And if it's not gonna come in that time. It'll say in big letters/numbers there is no searching around Trying to figure out the "truth" OK I'm starting to ramble but I can't say enough about Amazon… I honestly don't know what we would do without it… Great rug for a great price I will keep you updated three and six months in a year down the line to let you know how it's holding upDelivered right to my front door in two days. And that might not sound like a big deal to you if you live in Florida but I live in upstate New York and I am looking out my window right now at about 3 feet of snow… To have heavy cat litter brought right to my front door when this year alone I have had three surgeries on my hand, is just unbelievable:-)

Won’t lie flat but nice looking

It looks great and seems well made but having been curled upward in shipping I had to tie belts around it for several days to get it to lie on floor. As soon as I put it down the corners started curling up. I am still weighting corners and flipping it over to attempt to get it to lie flat.

Looks great, does have issues, great choice for right situation

Best way to review this seems to be to address the concerns stated in other reviews. “Corners/Edges won’t lay flat” Actually they will. First of all that should be expected because it’s made of nature fiber and it needs to be rolled up for shipping. Good news is it can be easily flattened by applying some heat and weight and then letting it cool while still under weight. “Loose/protruding fibers.” Yep, it’s got them and while it is fixable you shouldn’t have to because it’s a defect in workmanship that is completely avoidable. This is where they loose stars, one for allowing a significant, obvious and avoidable defect to occur and another for not addressing this problem because if you read the reviews this has been a long-standing problem. “Too rough to walk on.” My cat agrees but I do not. The texture of the natural fiber is part of the appeal, if you don’t want texture don’t buy sea grass and you should probably avoid jute rugs as well. “Smells like “hay/barn” Again, natural fiber. That will pass with time. “Wet, moldy, smells bad, etc” Didn’t have any such problems, but if you do… send it back because none of that is fixable. The loose fibers and curling were easily fixed and it looks great so as long as it’s reasonably durable this runner is great and worth the price.

What I wanted

These mats are rustic, like a basket weave straw with a dark beige binding, I ordered three and one had a large hole at one end, but as I bought the third to make matching door mats for the other two, and so was going to cut it anyway, I was not so bothered, but roll out and check when you receive yours incase you get the same trouble, this is why I only gave them 3 stars.

Quite a few breaks in the seagrass.

Beautiful. Lies flat. No curling at the ends. However, there are quite a lot of breaks (about 8) in the fibre, as pictured. My previous seagrass, an entire upper level of my house, had zero breaks.
