Magnificent

I’ve been doing Leather work for about five years. I saw a video with someone using the shares and it looked so easy that’s because it is easy. These are some fantastic shears so far. Saves me a lot of time cutting out smaller leather pieces.

Heavy Duty BUT...They Require Edge Touchup

Scissors are good quality and heavy duty. Not the best for small delicate tasks, and would have liked bigger handles for a more comfortable grip. I noticed the cutting edge had a slight burr, which i removed with a hone. After that, the scissors cut 10X easier. If you purchase these, i recommend inspecting the edge and if a burr is present, buff or hone it as you would a knife edge, and you will find these cut amazingly well. I deducted a star for the poor edge quality and lack of handle ergonomics.

useful and tough

out standing ,useful and tough. These scissors were designed and made to cut leather they are wonderful. They will cut bot thin and very heavy 809 oz leather like butter. I make knife sheaths as well as whips and other leather boxing equipment. These shears are the finest I have ever owned and I have 5 different quality pairs. Outstanding .

All-in-all, very disappointed in what I had expected and known to be a very high quality brand. I remember my grandmother using a pair of Wiss scissors and thought this was a no-brainer when looking for a great pair of leather sheers. I just hope this was a fluke! Amazon image showed made in the USA branding but the actual product didn't have the same branding on the blade and the packaging clearly showed they were made in Columbia. And that's not a total deal breaker alone, you just need to be transparent, but... The back of the lower handle had a large glob (1/2" L x 1/4" W x 1/8" H) of the black paint from the factory dipping still hanging on for dear life (barely). The black finish in that area and more was starting to peel off and expose the bare metal. The blade was chipped / broken on the sharpened cutting / top side, just at the tip. I tried it on a piece of leather and if I cut to the tip it would leave a fray. This had arrived with a red protective cover over the tip so it must have passed their QC prior to shipping. These kinds of things are all expected to happen over much time and they're usually accompanied with stories of how I dropped them from the table during such and such project... ahh, the memories? If it were only one thing, I might have considered keeping or exchanging them but this just seemed excessive.

Well Made Wiss product

Cuts though 1/8" leather with ease. Needed one drop of oil for lubrication, but otherwise perfect. Recommended

If you don't have very large male hands...

These shears are made for huge male hands. I have large hands for my gender and find them difficult to manage. Almost immediately I feel severe hand fatigue from trying to support and manoeuvre the weight of the shears with such a loose fit. If I could have afforded the time to wait again for another brand to be shipped I would have returned these.

Great Leather Scissors

i use these scissors on 5-6 oz leather and it cuts fine, the edge stays sharp. cut lines are clean and crisp.

Durable, high quality shears. Highly recommended.

Quality shears that cut leather well. Bigger and heavier duty than I anticipated. Would buy again, but the durability of this product means I probably will never have to. Highly recommended.
