A game changer for bathroom lighting

All of the wet location trims that I've seen and used in the past fully enclose the bulb behind a glass lens (often frosted or textured), resulting in dull, diffused light regardless of the bulb used. But this trim is unique in that it looks and works just like a regular ceiling trim (the bulb is fully exposed), so you can use various flood or spotlight bulbs to full effect. The trim is cleverly designed with a large rubber washer/seal at the top that creates a watertight (and airtight) seal around the neck of the bulb. So while the lower part of the bulb is fully exposed, the bulb base and socket are kept dry and safe above the seal. There's also a seal where the trim meets the ceiling, and the torsion springs keep the trim seated snugly. Installation is relatively easy, though you will need to unclip the light socket from the can housing and mount it on the trim (not hard to do). I would recommend checking the height inside your can light before ordering, since there are some special 'low profile' cans out there for shallow ceilings that may be too short for this trim. Overall I'm very pleased with this trim's design and build quality. Highly recommended if you're looking to have better control over your lighting in bathrooms and shower areas.

Not Nicor branded. No UL sticker. Not the same as the pictured item. Mine had bent trim as well. I did not purchase from a random seller. I had the same issue with this model from another retailer, so it's Nicor's issue, I think. They don't want their name on what they're selling, apparently.
