LOVELY CHAIR, BUT VERY DIFFICULT TO ASSEMBLE
I purchased this shower chair because I did not feel safe, despite having grab bars, standing in the shower after a hip replacement. I read many reviews, many of which discussed difficulty putting the chair together. I’ve used the chair once, so I will need to update my comments once I have used it several times. Putting this chair together according to the directions was nothing short of a nightmare. The front and back crossbars between the two legs (each set of legs is one piece in the shape of a “U”) did not meet the lets I was supposed to attach them two. (First you attach front & back crossbars to one set of lets, then you attach the seat to the first, then the second set of legs, then you attach the second crossbar to each set of legs. One side attached just fine; the other side the legs and crossbar didn’t meet up.) I removed the seat and attached the legs and crossbars, then reattached the “leg assembly” to the seat. Three of the screws went in easily; the fourth set of holes did not line up, no matter what I did to try to get them to sync. In the end, I had to drag out the Makita to screw in the final screw. Using the drill allowed the screw to self-tap into the hole that was out of alignment (by about 1-2mm). When it came time to attach the back, again I had holes that did not align, and only 3 of the 4 screws are screwed in tightly; the 4th screw is screwed in only about 3/4 of the way. Attaching the arms was somewhat easier, but upon using the chair, I noticed one of the arms is a bit wobbly, despite me originally screwing it in all the way and as tightly as possible. I guess I’ll need to drag the Makita out again in order to get the screws as tight as possible. The chair design seems to be quite sturdy, and it feels that way, but logic tells me it is only as sturdy as the tightness of the screws putting it together. And my chair had some holes which didn’t line up, so I believe my chair is not as sturdy as it should/could be; hence the 4 stars. In my opinion, stability associated with sturdiness. The design of the chair tends to make it quite stable, yet my arm loosened, and the back isn’t totally connected. NOTE: This chair COULD/SHOULD have been easy to assemble...if only all the holes lined up the way they were supposed to. This chair, via Moen’s website, sells for $40+ dollars more than Amazon is selling it for. I cannot help but wonder if, perhaps, Moen has offloaded to Amazon the batch of chairs that lacked the necessary precision hole location. Things I noticed after only one use: I like the mesh seat, which has a convex shape and is quite comfortable. While the back of the chair looks “upright”, if you lean against it, you are in a very slight “reclined position”. I would much prefer a straight back, particularly in the shower. For me, the arms are too far forward. I wanted arms on my chair to enable to lift myself up, but theese arms are so far forward I do not have any leverage, and find it necessary to use the grab bars in my shower to pull myself out of the chair. I have the legs fully extended because I am unable to get in and out of seating that is a “normal” height. The legs seem sturdy enough, but I’d be happier if the lower part of the leg extended more into the upper part. (Folks who don’t need to fully extend the legs won’t have this problem.) P.S. I have put together many pieces of furniture: bookshelves, DVD & CD shelving units, an entertainment unit, other shower chairs - I am no stranger to assembling such things. I spent several hours on Friday afternoon and Saturday morning putting this thing together, and my hands still hurt form gripping the screwdriver to make sure I screwed in the screws securely and tightly.

Much nicer look than the very clinical looking shower stools
I love that it does not like one of the very clinical/medical white shower stools, and it seems quite stable and strong, which is important as I am very significantly overweight. The few drawbacks are, first, that is bulkier than I expected. I have a shower that was converted from a tub, so it is about standard tub width and this JUST fits in and cannot be easily maneuvered from one end of the shower to the other once you are in the shower or turned around. Also, being larger, the side arms, which seemed like a great idea, would really be squishing my thighs and making it hard to get in and out of it. (Plus, I'm not sure they would even fit within the shower enclosure. ) Anyway, I just left them off and use the grab bars in the shower. I also removed the back after a couple of uses, but that's just personal preference. I wasn't really leaning back into it and it just made it seem bulkier than necessary, so I'm basically just using the seat part. That having been said, I love that using just the seat part looks much nicer in the shower, and it feels safe and secure. (I'm not sure why it is curved up like it is and would actually prefer it flat, I think, but maybe it makes the mesh stronger or something. Again, not a problem, but an observation that might be good to know. )

Great Bath Chair
This chair was the second I purchased for our walk in shower. The first was not as sturdy and we didn't like it. This one is easy to get up from because of the handles and very sturdy and high quality. It looks good in our shower;

Secoond one I purchased
Excellent shower chair, I especially like the mesh seat which allows for free flow of water. I am overweight, yet feel comfortable/safe when seated &/or changing position from sitting to standing. I use the grips for balance, with good stability. Also thankful it has height adjustment so I don’t has to sit too low, which allows me to sit stand easily.

If you are a senior and not as strong as you were maybe get it assembled or ask a friend to assist.
I read a review that said it was a piece of junk? The fellow said he was 72. That’s why I say you may want to get a little help. Overall the chair is definitely a great choice. It’s the best one of the group offered. My 32 year old son built it for me with a screw driver. Phillips head is all your going to need. It’s comfortable for me and my wife and it feels very sturdy. I did use the arms because I like them. The only thing I had a problem with was the tracking. It sent us a “ item delivered “ message when in fact it came the next morning. I called Amazon customer service and said some things that were not true about UPS. I don’t like having to apologize. Back to the chair. If you don’t mind spending a few more dollars on a item then by all means this is the best! My wife just had back surgery that required her to spend 3 months in a rehab facility. She is still doing therapy at home with a visiting nurse. She does not like the feeling of anything not sturdy. Nor do I for that matter. Well, this is not a issue for us with the Moen bathtub chair.

This is a great product. It's sturdy, lightweight and comfortable. I was afraid it would tip with pressure on the handles, but it doesn't budge. As for assembly, it went together easily in about 20 minutes with only one person on the job. All you need is a screwdriver. I had been worried with all the complaints about having to redrill holes, etc., but I did as others suggested and didn't fully tighten anything until the main components were attached together. That worked well. The arms can be done at the end. It is true the mechanism to adjust leg length is hard on the hands, but it's not unusable and you wouldn't want them collapsing. It shouldn't be a problem unless frequent height adjustments are required.

good quality and safe
Very sturdy! I bought it for my boyfriend's grandmother, who has a hard time getting in and out of the tub. It has a nice finish and the mesh bottom is soft.The rubber feet help hold it in place. Overall worth the money, and feels safe.
