Perfect lightweight travel jacket

I travel for a living and need a jacket to leave in my bag pretty much year round as you never know when the weather will turn in: LA, Fairbanks, Boston, Etc. I had a previous version of this jacket that was stolen and the replacement is just as good. Packs small, breaths well, totally waterproof and comfortable. I bought a XXL. I normally wear somewhere between XL and XXL. XXL allows just enough room for a light sweater underneath for the extra chilly days in Anchorage! Great jacket.

Missing waist drawstring pull tab on LH side

I wanted to like this jacket, but couldn't get past the fact that they cost reduced the waist drawstring and only put a pull tab on the RH side. The result is having a long portion of the drawstring hang down on the RH side if you synch the waist up. It hangs out enough to where it will get caught on branches and such as you walk by it. Seemed like it could have been a nice Gore-Tex jacket if Marmot wouldn't have cost reduced the waist drawstring!

Waterproof? Hardly.

$200 for a supposedly "waterproof" coat that wetted out and soaked through after just 30 minutes in the rain. An outrageous waste of money. Don't make the same mistake as me.

Great outer layer

As my first Gore Tex purchase I was stunned at the waterproof ability. Also the zippers in the armpits make it adjustable while hiking or working. With colder weather I can layer it easily with 650 down or fleece jacket. Great shell at a good price.
