IT WORKS

This is the 3rd thermometer from Amazon . This is the FIRST Taylor . Sent other 2 back as they were 8 to 10 degrees off . This Taylor is in sync with my outdoor weather station and a digital thermometer I set next to Taylor . I would say if all 3 of these are reading the same they are close enough for me . Should have bought this one first . Looks like the old style thermometers but made in china tells the full story .

For me hard to read

I couldn’t see the needle pointer at a distance on our deck. I found the pointer was to narrow or thin for me to see at a distance but other than that, it’s a nice thermometer.

Nice and big, but increments of 20 make it harder to read

Well, I should have looked at it closer before buying! This is a very nice outdoor thermometer. It seems like good quality and is easy to hang. The numbers are big, but it would be easier to read if they were in increments of 10 instead of 20. That’s what I get for not looking better before buying! There would have been plenty of room if they had left off the -60,-40, and even the -20! Haha, living in the far northwest part of Oregon, we’ll never see those temps! Overall, it’s a nice thermometer to have hanging on the catalpa outside the kitchen window!

Placement is key

Must be kept in the shade. It is currently in sunlight, and registering a temperature of 125° F on an 80° F day.

Hard to read in the light

This thermometer is clear and bright and easy to read until you hang it up and try to read it at a distance in the sunlight. The front is slightly curved rather than flat so if there is any light that can reflect of the front you can't see the numbers. I had to replace it with one with a flat front which works fine. It has all the good qualities of and outdoor thermometer except reading it in the light.

Two is to much

I had already ordered a thermostat for outside when my husband ordered this one. He sent back not because we didn’t like it but because we didn’t need two. This one was great large numbers so you can see it in summer and winter but also it was just what we would use but we liked the cardinal one better it fit the post we have without overhang.

Easily readable from a distance, accurate, and great value for the money.

What I like about it is it has two mounting holes to keep the wind from blowing it off. I can read it from my dining room window which is about 20 to 25 ft.
