My son's dingy whites are white again
I have an older Top loader Whirlpool washer that is at least 25 to 35 years old. I bought it second hand, and I love it compared to the fancy shmancy HE washers that fail to clean as well. It is also the largest capacity washer that Whirlpool has ever made for home use. I have used energy efficient machines many times before, because I used to run a cleaning business for over 10 years. One of the services I provided was laundry. I used a large variety as most of my customers could afford the the luxury of top of the line appliances. I also have used just about all the most popular brands of detergent on the market. If money were no object for me, I would say that Tide and Gain are among the best name brand detergents. However, I have had to pinch a lot of pennies through the years like a lot of folks. So unless Tide or Gain was on sale I suffered through generic brand after generic. My all time most favorite brand of detergent is Oxiclean's Detergent, not the powder pretreater. I am talking about the sleek blue bottle that I used to be able to find a Walmart. However, it has always been quite pricey comparable to pricerange of Tide and it is becoming harder to find. So in a pinch after reading so many reviews of all the versions of Presto detergent, I decided to try Presto frangrance free brand since it was on sale. I figured I had nothing to lose at less than $7 a bottle. Though, admittedly, I was wary about using something that was free from perfume, because it is hard for me to imagine how a soap that has no scent that is also a generic could possibly get rid of my funky monkey boy's rank smelly feet smell out of his grimy filthy socks. Now, of course I am not saying I would take more perfume smell to cover up for a lack of clean, but still it was just hard to imagine that such a small measured amount could possibly handle the task at hand. I have tried so many other generics that did not work without dumping what seemed like half a container's worth in a single load. Okay I am exaggerating, but suffice it to say that anything generic claiming to be able to truly clean clothes at a premium quality strength fell short most of the time with exception of both Target and Great Value's generic versions of Gain or Tide. Both Target's and Great Value brand do a decent comparable job. I also have found Aldi's generic version of Gain to be decent. Although, I still tend to pour more in the washer than is normally recommended, mainly because I want to be extra sure I get clean and since I am using am old fashioned top loader that uses so much water it seems that of all the generics before my laundry required more soap than is recommended, despite the manufacturers' claims to be adequate for both older machines like mine and HE machines. Back to Presto, I decided to give it a real test drive by followed the instructions exactly. Since I was washing an extra large size load with extra filth from funky monkey boy, I used 3/4 of the cap full. To my amazement the same funky monkey boy's socks that were dingy reddish brown from his goofiness wearing his socks outside without shoes on are white again. Better still nearly of his socks and t-shirts and undies are bright white again. Usually I am lucky to get an earthy cream to ivory shade of white. These are actually bright white. Better still all the rank smell was completely eliminated. The clothes have no perfume smell obviously being the soap is frangrance free, but they actually smell clean! I did not bother to pretreat the clothes, which I normally prefer to do in order to get them this white again, but even with pretreating, I do not usually get such a bright white as I did today. So I suspect that had I let them soak in the Presto overnight in the washer the older more stained socks would have been even whiter. I will give this a try next time. Meanwhile, I am thrilled with the results. Imagine that! I am thrilled with laundry. Who would have thought that one up? LOL! o I recommend Presto? Absolutely! It is worth every penny and I hope Amazon keeps selling it.

Excellent Value, Works Great!
I am very pleased with the Presto! Amazon brand detergent! I had used another variety of the Amazon detergent before and had no complaints but believe this particular variety has raised the bar. The fragrance is pleasant both when washing clothes as well as in combination with the Presto! brand softener--including when the clothes are dried and folded or hung for next use. The actual detergent cleaning ability is solid in both warm and cold wash situations--cold wash is for my day-to-day laundry and the detergent performs well. I use warm wash if I have heavily soiled clothing from yard work or some shade-tree mechanic work and so far the Presto! brand has worked as well or better than even my favorite name brand product. One of the key things I have found with all Presto! Amazon laundry products is to READ THE DIRECTIONS and use ONLY the amount of product called for. A little goes such a long way and there is no need to over do as then you'll end up with residual products still in your clothing and that does more harm than good. All said & done I am extremely happy with this product and will continue to purchase it and would definitely recommend it to a friend or family member.

concentrated Tide knock off
Despite this having the same exact bottle and cap as Persil, this is a Tide knock off, BUT, I do think this is manufactured by Henkel as they manufacture other Amazon detergent brands, Solimo and Amazon Basics. This is even stated in the listing and insinuated with the orange bottle as well steering you to believe it is more like Tide. I'll describe this then as Persil, with the scent of Tide. I have always hated the scent of Tide, but this one does not bother me, really. It IS concentrated and seems to work fine leaving my clothes smelling clean and fresh. I used this on a load of dirty mop rags and such (I soaked overnight as I ALWAYS do) They came out clean and left them with their same absorbent properties. Use the cap to measure as this is concentrated. If you have a machine that you can pour the entire bottle into and let it automatically dispense the detergent, I would not use that feature with this detergent and would measure by the cap instead. This does contain enzymes, just as Tide does, but I have not noticed a "weird" smell that can happens sometimes. A few years back, Persil had MANY complaints that it made their clothes smell like vomit. I have not experienced that with this detergent. I'm not in love with the scent, but my usual brand was out so I figured why not. I think this is stronger than my usual brand so I will definitely be using this on the dirty mop and cleaning rags so this will last me a LONG time. The bottle arrived in a box, upside down for a few days until I opened it. The lid is secure having more threads than my usual brand and not one drop leaked out. It is definitely worth a try, especially if you are a fan of Tide detergent but not of their retail price. I have noticed this Preto! often has coupons and sales, subscribe and save too!
