Way overpriced but works.
Even with a fairly small cupola I needed this over $30 metal rod for an extra inch or two. Its a rip off.

It's very sturdy but does not have a universal fit for all weathervane's
I got this because I wanted to have a base support and a weathervane added to the base support. This does raise the weathervane a little higher. The problem is that not all weathervane's use the standard screw-on tip that's on this adapter. I ended up drilling out the weathervane insertion hole and epoxy bonding it to the extension rod. This weathervane does work for the good direction weathervane'.. If you're getting any other model it may not work

Doesn't fit my, "Good Directions" brand weathervane
This is SOLID and super-well made. It reminds me of a weapon in the game, "Clue." (Who done it?! haha) It's a solid hunk of brass and no doubt, will be an heirloom addition for your weathervane. Only problem is that it's not compatible with my Good Directions brand weather vane. Too wide at the female end, so there's about 1cm of play... Needs to be perfectly milled for my vane. This will be great if it fits your weathervane. No luck for me.

Perfect just what we were looking for
We couldn't be more HAPPY with this beautiful ornament. It's completes our home. It's very shiny, we sprayed with everbrite clear protective finish. A little pricey but will keep it from oxidation

The product is well made but unless you REALLY want to elevate the weathervane even more above the cupola you really don't need to use it. Totally your call !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

EXCELLENT QUALITY, NOT ENOUH INFO
One post not nearly enough distance for cupola installation...ended up needing 3 to complete installation. It would be better if number of extensions needed based on size were suggested when ordering cupola

Solid metal rod
Solid metal rod with threaded end to fit into most weathervanes as an extension. Also has one female threaded end so you can put more if you need extra height. Easy to install other than getting up on the roof!

It is not included which is not very customer considerate...
We needed to order the extention rod after we received our weathervane. It should have been included in the order! Shame on you....

You need this extension rod if you are inserting a Good Directions weathervane into the top of a cupola. The rod that comes with the weathervane is not long enough to do this.

Good product, but slow in delivery to Canada ( compared to Amazon.com for delivery to US address). It work perfect with weathervane.
