genuine Joe 24" cotton mop refill

Genuine Joe Mop Refill. Bought this to replace the similar Quickie Mop refill, which used to be perfect with weekly laundering over 1.5 years, but finally wore thin. The quality on the Quickie refill is awful. We bought Quickie refill three times and returned all due to shredding in the washing machine after each first use. That led us to try Genuine Joe. Husband used it yesterday on our 2000' hard surface flooring and loved it. I washed it on gentle cycle and half dried it and hung to dry the rest. So far, so good. Will report back on durability after multiple uses.

Opening is just a bit small.

This required a bit of personalization for it to work properly with our mop. It is the same size and to the naked eye looks identical to our previous mop heads. When we went to put it on we discovered that the opening was about a half inch too small to get it on. Quick surgery with a pair of scissors fixed this issue and it has been working fine for us. We have had so much difficulty finding the refills with closures that we will most likely continue ordering these and cutting the opening. It works great for getting up the animal hair in our veterinary clinic but they need to be replaced often for the same reason.

Genuine

The Genuine Joe Cotton Yarn Mop Refill is great. It is exactly like the one that comes with your Original Genuine Joe. The only reason I needed a new mop head is because I machine washed the first one. I do *not* recommend putting these in the washing machine. The yarn gets snagged and comes unraveled in places. These should last for years and years so I recommend hand washing these or, *maybe* machine washing in super gentle cycle with slow spin speed. My entire home has laminate flooring and I would be lost without my Genuine Joe. And even though I had to purchase this new mop head, the value has still been better than those numerous tiny pads you have to buy for those other "sweepers" that are out there.

Not such a good idea

I thought this would help in maintaining my new hardwood floors through out the house but it didn't. It just sort of was a hassle making sure the pile of dust and debris you're sweeping always stays in front. There's no cling to it for the dust, which might be unfair to ask it to do. You might very well get different results from your intended use. It's also not what I would label as 'well made' but also not what I would call 'badly made' either. Just light weight I guess.

Time saver for cleaning around the house

Best product for a quick sweep around the house best uses for tile and hard wood floors. Not only that this thing sweep a large portion of the floor at one pass it also dust and attracts animal hair, or any hair that might be hiding in the books and cranny. I love this type of broom and it fits perfectly with my 24" generic push broom.

Just Okay

It is thin and hard to put on my mop head. It did fit...barely. It doesn't seem to collect the dust and hair like my original one did either. I wish I could find one like my original one.

Little disappointed in lint left behind

Nice size mop heads but they do leave lint in the lines between each of the laminate flooring boards. Have to use a vac to get those up. Maybe a few more washes will eliminate this problem.

Works

This dust mop works so well with it's swivel action. Wore out yarn mop in few months, but is easy to change out with new refill. I use this daily with our wood floors.
