Bad gasket
I think the carb is fine, but the diaphragm was faulty and was spraying gas out the side. At first I thought it may be a machining issue with the cover plate but thankfully not. Luckily i had another gasket in hand and it worked fine. Would have returned but after going through all you do to get a new carb installed like this it was not worth it to me. Anyway, my suggestion is to have and extra diaphragm gadket on Hand anyway..they are pretty cheap.

Replaced hard to find model.
Stretch? Have no idea what this means involving a carburetor. Was not easy to install, you have to remove the whole fuel tank to replace, but that's what it takes. Value for money. Hmm, well this carburetor cost upwards of $100. when there were countless ones for $25.-30, but they were not exactly the same replacement part. I like that this is a Briggs and Stratton and not an off brand. This went on a Montgomery Ward log splitter.

Doesn’t run very well.
I was surprised I found a replacement. It was a challenge to replace.

If its not an OEM part is so close I can't tell
Came in a Briggs & Stratton box and had adjustment instructions with their logo, fit exactly except for the air filter port which is fair, I was replacing the carb on a 30 year old engine and I know its an updated part number. Runs like a champ 5 minutes after installing. A bit pricey but its a more or less obsolete model, was fortunate to still be able to get one at all.

Keep your old carburetor. You will need parts off it!!
Great carb. Put it on and fired right up with 2 pulls. Also replaced the mounting gaskets and air filter. Keep your old carburetor, you will need a screw and a rubber piece off of it. Pictures of both.

Make sure you Order the right part.
It was a bit different where the Air Filter fit on and I had to add an extra gasket to raise the filter housing. It would be nice to have the necessary manifold and tank mount gaskets included with the carburetor . Other than that it was good and worked well.

works good as new
Bought this as a replacement for a 40 year old splitter unit that cracked at the mounting flange. I had been having issues with the motor's vibration loosening the carb/head bolts, and I think that's what led to the failure. Pro tip: install stainless studs and locknuts instead of replacing the bolts - much more secure.

Purchase from manufacturer for the part you're replacing when you can.
The part is absolute and delivered quickly. Paid more than some others advertised and in some cases 3 for 1 but I went with Briggs and Stratton. I will be shipping item back only because a mechanic I use had a couple sitting around his property . Removed and replaced, worked out great. But I would definitely pay the extra to Briggs and Stratton for this type of part especially so for a carburetor.

Missing throttle plate completly manufacturers defect? also damaged during shipping
I received this Carb and it looked like the box was used a soccer ball. Inspected the carb and all seemed okay except for one of the plastic tubes (shorter one) was broken so I went to my local small engine reseller and got a new one (not really a big deal only a couple bucks). I bolted up the carb and started my engine and the engine ran away immediately, it's a good thing I had the air cleaner off because I was able to put my hand over the air intake and choke the engine out and make it stop. I of course though it was something I did. I verified that my carb setting were correct and started it again...this time with my hand ready to choke off the air. I let it rev up (controlling air flow into the carb with my hand) and verified that the governor and linkage were doing their job (as the engine revved up, the governor moved the throttle plate into zero fuel position. Long story short I took the carb on and off a few more times and finally realized that the carb did not have a plate (inside of it) attached to the throttle linkage therefore the throttle linkage was useless and stuck in 100% fuel all the time. Now extremely annoyed I harvested parts off my new useless carb and put them on my old original one and bolted that one on, now everything works fine. What a waste of money - I wasn't going to bother complaining but the review popped up. I guess chock this up to a manufactures defect? No idea but cost me a pile of time, money and aggravation.

Fuel pump gasket defective!
Fuel pump is pouring gas out right next to muffler. Its a Briggs and Straton carb but its 100% made in China according to the box. Go to your dealer and buy this. Triple the price of the cheaper Amazon carbs and still made in China.....
