Light Load Bearing Vest.

I'm not a fisherman, so I didn't buy this for that; however, this does make a nice light load bearing vest. You can load out the nine exterior pockets and leave the two large pockets on the bottom free for dumps or foraging. This vest is not going to work for a heavy loadout, but has plenty of capacity for the essentials. It's very light, breathable, and waterproof, like Frogg Toggs' other products. Being short, it allows you to bend, drive, paddle, or sit without getting in the way. It even works under a back or sling pack, allowing you to dump your pack without losing all your gear. The color is a field gray/green, so it blends in well.

The vest fit fine. Problem with the vest is the loop for ...

Most of the clothing I wear is size XXL. The vest fit fine. Problem with the vest is the loop for the rodholder at the bottom of the vest is about the size of a quarter. I could barely fit the end of my smallest fly rod through it. In my opinion too many small pockets, and not enough large pockets to fit small fly boxes, tippet wallet, etc. Very much like the Sportsman Wading Jacket...too many small pockets, not enough large ones. I returned the item.

a woman in a man's vest

I bought this for myself, a woman and at that age where you get very hot and its not from the sun. First thought of the vest was not good. It was so light and cheap looking material but it had plenty of pockets, etc . Price was right. Less then half the cost of all my other name brand fishing vests. Turns out to be my favourite! It is so light and breathable that I forgot all about those night sweats during a day of fishing. Just wish they could make dresses out of the same material. I recommend this product.

Okay fishing vest. For the Price Great.

I bought it to pack with ice the experiment failed .. I was trying to make an ice jacket that would keep you under 90 degrees but the ice next to my body did nothing. I had 4 ice packs squeezed in pocket and nothing. Ice in chest pocket and could feel nothing. Too much air getting in between I guess. It works better to get a scarf and wrap the ice in it and then twist and tie around waist or neck or both. Still working on it. I don't like the wet vests they sell you have to soak and put on. Or just stick the blue ice in your undergarments. Sounds crazy but works for a few hours costs nothing. Would buy for fishing if I had a pole.

Bought it for the price, will keep it for simple perfection.

After reading the reviews, I figured I couldn't go too wrong for the low price. I looked at vests for a couple weeks. Some fancy, with a price to match. Many basic with an ok price point. I kept coming back to this vest wondering how good could it really be for the low price? Now that I have been using it for a few weeks, reality has set in. The fancy vests with the crazy amount of pockets.....in reality I would never use them. This vest is basic with enough usable pockets to be perfect in my estimation! How much crap do you want to haul in your vest while wading in a stream? The vest material is very lite weight, but sturdy. It breathes well while standing in the sun all day and when I slipped on the slimey rocks, dunking the lower pockets in the water, everything in the pockets stayed dry. I am sure if you held it under water the zippers would leak water, but the material will not. I read a couple reviews stating this vest was too short....it's a fishing vest! It's supposed to be short so you can wade in streams and rivers in your chest waders! The layout of the pockets is excellent. One pocket comes with a dry fly pad for pinning your flies to. The zippers seen just above the lower pockets are for two very roomy pockets that are the size of the entire lower panel. The loop at the bottom right is to place the bottom of your pole in while using the Velcro tab on the upper chest to hold your pole hands free while tying a new fly or lure on. The vest simply works great! I no longer have longing eyes for the fancy vests. Let the fashion fisherman wear those, I'll take what works great at an even better price!

Dirty, cheap and nothing like pictured

Not the same color, material is extremely thin and not durable. Zipper doesn’t even look the same. Also came with dirty items in the package. Thank god I checked reviews last week or I’d have been out of luck for my husbands Halloween costume. Returning asap.

Good for fly fishing

The material may be waterproof but it feels too thin for my liking. Feels like it could tear if i put to much in the pockets. But then again its meant for fly fishing, so i doubt extra hooks and fly's would be a problem. Should be ok for fishing supply's. **Edit I'm really beginning to like this vest. I'm using it as a tactical vest over a couple of shirts. And i love how it has so many pockets. I don't know if the strength of the material will be an issue,it isn't yet. Oh and it's more of a greenish grey, then a stone color.

Practical - but wilderness may look at you funny.

Disappointing product. I’ll skip on sizing issues - made big - only to mention that bigger sizes increases the girth, not the length, and this is a SHORT vest, as in, above your belly button short. Aside from that, material and construction are of good quality, pockets are of a decent size, with plastic zippers for the lower and velcro for the top ones. Not tested but I’ve no problem believing the waterproof claim, though what this means in practice for a short sleeveless vest, I don’t know. Furthermore, though I ordered the solor STONE, and that looked brownish in the pictures here, it turned out to be much closer to MOSS, army green than anything else. I am keeping this and will use it now and then, but it is far from the go-to I was expecting. It may be practical but the shortness is a big issue, making me look like a survivalist clown. Not a bad choice for a concealed travel vest, though: Lightweight, breathable, lots of storage, and the high cut may be an advantage when mixed with a money belt or similar device.

Good basic fishing vest but not durable

Great fit. However, the material this vest is made of is not very nice. Almost like a tissue rather than cloth. I will continue looking for a vest that works.

Quality Vest!

Fit is great, lots of pockets, good quality fabric and zippers. Happy so far, can't wait to get it full of tackle, and test it out.

Great Vest

This a great vest for me as I am using it for photography. I found it to be too big but is my fault for ordering the bigger size. I will just take it in a bit with my sewing machine.
