Fixes slamming doors and leaky ovens
My oven door would slam shut which has pinched my hand several times. It also wouldn’t close securely, letting a lot of heat past the door. Food wouldn’t cook evenly. I originally thought the problem was the door seal, but thankfully I replaced the hinges first. The replacement process is sort of tedious. The old hinges literally have double the amount of spring coils on each side... must have been a rookie engineer who forgot to divide by 2. Thus they will snap shut without warning when you try to get them out. Be extremely cautious where your hands are and wear gloves! Once the old ones are out, the reassembly process is simple. I didn’t end up changing the mounts inside the oven chassis, just the hinges which fixed my problem. You may need to change both if the mounts are deformed as well. Both are included. Also, save the screws. The kit didn’t include enough screws to replace all of them, and there were a couple old ones that were stripped. I was lucky enough to bust one of the old hinges out by work hardening it, but otherwise I would have needed to cut the screws. My oven door now closes properly without a slam and seals perfectly. Food cooks like it should. This repair saved me from replacing an otherwise perfect range. Wish I did this sooner.

Went cheap on the springs. I kept the OEM hinges and the longer, thicker spring is the original.

Took about 30 minutes to install very easy
So happy this part was available to purchase. We just bought a house and the stove door kept popping open. This fixed it..
