Finely woven, light and gentle to the skin

This is my first interaction with the Fox River brand. My first impression has been the socks are finely woven, ultra-light, and gentle to the skin / tough. Size M - fit light like a glove. Can't wait to try them out on the trails.... I gave 4 stars based on my first impressions... Can't comment on durability at this stage.

Dry Feet

As a base layer these socks kept my feet dry and warm in the cold Antarctic. Dry feet is extremely important in cold climates. These socks wicked away the sweat.

Purchased as a gift

I had been recommending theses to a hunting buddy for years. When I got him a couple pair he was sold on them and wears them all the time he's out hunting now.

Thin and Ultra-Lightweight but also Scratchy

I was hoping these liner socks would help with hotspots and callouses. I didn't use them very many times, because they were scratchy and felt a bit like I was wearing a plastic mesh net around my feet (like the kind of bags onions are sold in). They seem plenty strong, and probably would have lasted through a number of uses. Runs like stockings

I wore these for a day to help break in my new hiking boots, just urban walking. They worked fine but discovered they run like nylon stockings, so not very durable.

Fantastic socks

I bought these socks before a now legendary hiking trip. I wore these socks along with some ankle socks and myKEEN Women's Gypsum WP Hiking Shoe, Raven/Baltic, 9 M US hiking shoes. We hiked into the Bankhead National Forest in the Sipsey Wilderness area. No trails at all, bring clippers to cut brambles and briars out of the way type of hike. Because there are only 10 people allowed per group in the Sipsey Wilderness, we broke up into two groups. The leader of our group wasn't as familiar with the area as he thought he was and we ended up wading about a mile up the wrong creek. When our mistake was discovered, we had to hike back out as quickly as possible, and ended up getting out of the forest as darkness was falling, thanks to the group member who had marked his car with a GPS location. I ended up with Rocky Mountain Spotted Fever from a tick bite and a torn calf muscle due to pushing on when I had a huge calf cramp while climbing a very steep section of hill. It was an adventure! Anyway, these socks performed very well. They allowed my feet to stay dry in the waterproof keen shoes (which made my feet sweat on a subsequent hike during which I did not wear these socks) and they prevented any rubbing so even though I hiked for eight hours, I did not get any blisters. Instead of my socked foot rubbing against the inside of my shoes, the two layers of socks (these and jogging type angle socks) rubbed against each other. My feet did not overheat, and the socks gave a very satisfactory performance. They worked really well after the creek wade when I had to swap out of water shoes back into my keen shoes. They were easy to get on my feet even though my feet were damp and I'm convinced these socks are the reason I escaped the wilderness without a blister.

These sock liners not only keep my feet warmer, but also for easier putting on the overlying sock.

Sleek, strong thin socks (or sock liners)

I LOVE these socks -- but they are ultra thin, so be sure to keep your toenails trimmed or you'll shred the socks! For myself, because I have wide feet, my winter boots and hiking boots are often a bit narrow -- so I use these Fox socks for my only sock, so my feet don't get crowded. (I wish boot manufacturers made "Women's Wide" sizes, but mostly they don't.) I thought these might fall apart because they're thin -- but they're going strong. An excellent value.

One ripped after 2nd use.

I bought these because I have blister issues often. I owned liners before and they started to wear after about 1 year. One of these has a hole and run after 2nd use. My toe nails are trimmed, I have the proper sized hiking boot and I wear very expensive hiking socks, so no reason other then poor quality.

Must have for long hikes

Must buy for anyone doing long/multi-day hikes. These were breathable and kept my feet feeling the same after mile 8 as they did at the beginning. I also wore them for 3 days straight out fond necessity and they stayed odorless the whole time. Great buy!

Great liners for tight-fitting socks

I use these liners under thick, tight-fitting ski socks, which are otherwise difficult to get on and off. They work perfectly for that task and also help to keep my feet dry when skiing. I haven't tried them for hiking yet, but I'm guessing they will work well in that role,too.

My favourite hiking socks!

These are perfect. Great height for boots, don't smell or feel worn after hiking all day, are not too hot or cold. I wore them several times on a hiking trip (no washing available) because they were so much better than my other options, even once worn! Ordering another pair now :)
