Perfect for what we needed

My dad only has one hand so I bought this to help him with his food preparation. He loves it and it has helped so much. Great product for anyone who may only have use of one hand.

A Helping Hand

I studied my purchase for a while before I decided to buy this cutting board. Thanks to the others that left reviews behind; I got the board and assembled it before my surgery. The spikes come installed and covered with a styrofoam protector. The spikes are stored in the board in the down position as to not accidentally injure a person while using other parts of the board. they have to be pulled out and reinserted up in order to use. When you receive the board turn the board upside down and use the brass fittings to screw in the suction cups. The turn the board over to attach the vice by sliding it in and the pegs by selecting what ever peg hole you wish to use. It is now ready. Due to surgery I needed a little help.. So far I have used the vice to help me open jars, to cut open plastic wrapped meat and cheese, and to cut an apple for eating. It has helped with my independence. I have more to explore as I haven't used the spikes to hold food.

Helpful with one arm.

One of the suction cups does not have a screw in it do it can't be used. With One arm this is helpful and difficult to use. I use a non slip mat under it so I can use it. The suction cups are hard to release with one arm. It can go in the dishwasher. Hand wash is difficult with one arm. The locking piece is nice for cutting and the spikes work for some things too. I think it's very expensive for the small cutting area.

Suction feet come off and cannot be replaced...

Suction feet come off and cannot be replaced... have bought two of these for an amputee. Works as designed, but when removed from a counter to clean, the suction cup feet tend to break free from the board. It would be nice to have them screw on or to be able to insert back into the fixture, but that is not how they were engineered. Probably will NOT purchase a third time; I'll try a different product. But again - great product other than this issue!

Mr brother had a stroke and I got this for him. More than anything it's useful for opening jars and bottles with the clamp. Might have been user error but clamp didn't lock everytime.
