Perfect size for the kayak.
This unit was the perfect size for my 10' yak. Although I haven't been out with it yet It performed well on a short bank angling sojourn. I'm still waiting for the yak mount so when I am able to give a better review I will be back with an edit.

Amazing little tool! (Once you figure it out..)
I was really holding off on reviewing this unit until I had an appropriate amount of time to test it and dial it in a little. I was mostly interested in this for the ice fishing flasher feature, but needed a finder for my 14' v-hull as well. Figures I'd try to kill two birds with one stone. Straight from the box with factory settings, depth and water temperature showed accurately. (Which is kinda half the battle with these cheaper fish finders) Menus are very easily navigated and settings easily changed. I have no doubt the regular fish finder feature will work great on my boat this coming spring/summer/fall. I've already ordered the 12v adapter kit and high speed transducer direct from Hawkeye's website. Hurrah! When I first went to use the flasher, what an awful experience. I spent a full day out on the water wracking my brains trying to figure out what exactly I was looking at. I couldn't determine fish from bait from ground level, nothing. I also couldn't see my jig at any depths, including when it was directly beneath my transducer. I was so disappointed but not ready to give up on it. With a couple days of tinkering and a lot of online research, I finally have the units flasher set up exactly how I need it and I'm very pleased with how well it works. Can easily locate my jig and see when the fish move to it. Battery life is a little low, (but what do you expect on 4 AAA batteries?) but aides greatly in the portability of the unit. I've found one set of standard Energizer batteries will get you about 10-12 hours in colder weather. Will have to get some of the Lithium batteries the manufacturer recommends to try out and compare. Shout-out to the customer support staff at Hawkeye as well. They are very helpful and quick to respond to any questions you may have. It's truly a shame more companies do not operate as efficiently as they do. Overall, I'm super happy with the FishTrax C1 fish finder. It is incredibly versatile, easy to read, portable, and very cost effective. 4/5 stars just for battery life, it took sooo long to dial in, and it REALLY doesn't like water under 3-3.5 feet.

Great for the money and serves it purpose.
Nice little fish finder, with the keyword being little. I love it, but I certainly wish it were maybe an inch bigger in width and height. No complaints in terms of indicating fish however, this was worth it's weight in gold and since I use in the evening, I love that I can change from a light screen to a blue screen when it gets dark. Need 1 set of batteries/day so be warned. Need a couple of days to fully know the settings/buttons, even after reading/watching the instructions and practicing at home.

In search of the perfect depth finder (still)
I fish in the Boundary Waters Canoe Area in northern Minnesota. I was looking for a depth finder to use in a canoe. The Vexilar LC-10 and Piranhamax 210 are generally the preferred and recommended units by BWCA canoeists. Both models are no longer produced so I was looking for a similar type unit that was small, light, simple to operate and good battery life. Another feature would be that the person I fish with used the LC-10 to the device I used would have to operate on a different frequency. The FT1PXC is small and light. I used a standard GoPro clamp mount to attach to the front thwart and since I did not have a suction cup mount, I had the transducer go through the hull. It detached from the GoPro mount quickly and easily for portages. The on screen menu is simple to operate and understand however I should have read the manual before I set off on the trip just to familiarize myself with the features. The screen display was clear and crisp however I wish I had the option of moving the depth and temperature readings to the bottom of the screen. When your fishing 100+ feet of water, you don't have much time to see the shallow "fish" before they disappeared behind the depth and temps readings. The unit tends to stall (screen freezes) when changing depth ranges. This stall was around 3 to 10 seconds and seemed to happen more when moving to shallower water than going to deeper. (Very) Annoying but not a game changer. The battery life was dismal. We fish a lot. 8 to 12 hours a day. This unit would deplete a set of batteries every day! It uses 4 AAA batteries and I was using a popular "copper top" brand of battery. Also the battery cover should be redesigned so it can be removed and batteries can be replaced without the use of a screwdriver or any tool for that matter. We typically don't carry tools with us so I'm sure my fishing partner did not appreciate me stopping paddling while I unscrewed 2 standard head screws 1/2 turn at a time, replaced the batteries and then screwed the cover back on, 1/2 turn at a time. Pros- Multiple frequencies Small and light Great screen Cons- Depth and temp reading in they way Poor battery life screen delays when changing depth zones. I'll continue to look at other depth finders since this one did not live up to the standards I was looking for. Maybe I'll sell it, maybe I'll keep it and add (make) an external battery pack with AA size batteries to it to increase the battery life since this is my biggest complaint.

Great Portable Fish Finder.
This is the second Hawkeye fish finder I purchased. The first was a very basic entry level device that did its job, but this one is AMAZING!!! It's worth the extra money for all the bells and whistles. Looking back, I should have purchase this a long time ago.

Lite, Portable, and easy to use
This fish finder does everything I need it to do and more. It's very user friendly and had it set up in no time. Works well and with the 2 year no fault warranty you can't go wrong with this unit. I contacted Hawk Eye before purchasing this unit to make sure it would do what I needed it to do pared with my underwater camera and the service was excellent with the suggestion that this unit would be perfect for my needs and they were right on. I would definitely recommend this to anyone for ice fishing or with a small boat.

HawkEye Fish-finder
I bought this fish-finder as a upgrade from my old F33P model by the same company. This one has a color display, shows different size fish & also shows the temperature of the water. It does not come with a mount for the transducer, but I already had one from the old unit anyway. Only used it a couple of times last season, but I've used it a lot this season and I'm pleased with it.
