Does what I need it to do.

It looks good. It's on the counter most of time. The little troughs around the perimeter are somewhat difficult to clean but I reckoned that when I bought it. It seems durable but I haven't had it long enough to be sure. It was not expensive but I'm glad it's workable. I've been treating it with mineral oil. That seems to do the job. Glad I bought it.

Beautiful cutting board

Very sturdy and stylish. So far I’ve only used it as a hot plate and to cut an onion or two but so far so good.

And Excellent Purchase

Occasionally, a product comes along that is a great buy and this Sabatier Cutting Board is one of them. I haven’t had it all that long but so far (which is why four stars and not five), I am extremely pleased with the board. I love the handles on the side which makes the Sabatier board stand out from the rest. It is solid and easy to clean (although like any wood, you need to be careful). If you need a wedding shower gift, at under $15, this will make a great basis for some other kitchen items. So far, I have not found any downsides to this product. Bottom line, I would recommend the Sabatier Dual-Sided Cutting Board.

Sabatier Reversible Bamboo cutting board, bread side keeps crumb spillage in check

This Sabatier cutting board is made of bamboo. I prefer wood or bamboo cutting boards over plastic or glass ones, since glass will dull knives and plastic just shows cut marks too easily. I like that this one is reversible, with the grooved side being intended for bread. Cutting a crusty loaf always seems to send bread crust shards flying everywhere over the countertop, and the grooves catch crumbs and reduce that issue. Bamboo is relatively inexpensive but as a material it's harder than maple and other woods, and will thus dull knife edges faster. On the plus side, bamboo is a renewable resource. I think maple, beech and walnut woods are superior for cutting boards, though, if you want to splurge.

A beautiful and useful addition to our kitchen

We have multiple sizes of plastic cutting boards that we've acquired over the years. The problem is that they're not very attractive so they stay in a drawer until you need one. When you only want to slice one or two things, sometimes the countertop was the cutting board. We finally replaced our Formica countertop with granite. It's a huge improvement in many ways except now it's really important to always use a cutting board or you'll have a dull knife in no time. I was attracted to this Sabatier board immediately when I saw it. Not only is it from a respected brand, but the color complements our countertop and it's attractive enough to stay on the counter top all of the time. It's quite durable, showing very little wear even after quite a bit of use. And even though it's durable, it's kind to our knife edges. A plus is that it's two-sided. The side with the grooves is great for slicing bread loaves or other items where it's convenient to catch the crumbs. It's gotten several comments from friends and visitors who wanted to know where we got it.

It's a nice board, but I fear the wood won't hold up for very long.

The wood is starting to get a little rough after a few hand washes. I'm afraid it's not going to last very long because of this. It looked great when I first received it and it's a nice large size board, just wish the wood were better quality.

Really nice meat cutting board

This is a solid cutting board with harder wood and better finishing than most boards, despite the low price. Once side has many grooves to catch meat juices, the other is flat for slicing. The finish is attractive, and the board stands up well to wear.

Thick and sturdy

Great quality cutting board, thick, sturdy and cleans really well. I like it far more then other cutting boards I've used in the past.
