Features Competitively priced Effective Protection Reduces wetness Subtle aroma Name brand Softens skin Considerations Aluminum Zirconium Tetrachlorohydrex GLY What did I receive? I received a shrink-wrapped sealed (which I appreciated), clear, plastic package containing four (4) nicely shaped/designed white plastic applicators of Dove Advanced Care Antiperspirant Deodorant Stick in Passionfruit & Lemongrass fragrances. Describe the package. The plastic packaging was heavy-duty (which I liked, maintaining the clean integrity of the stick, I dislike dirty scuffed-up applicators) and overall, the package measured about 5½” x 6” x 2¼”. The packaging required us to use scissors. (I prefer tough packaging over flimsy.) Package weight? The package, with the product inside, weighed in at just a hair under (1) pound. Dimensions of deodorant stick Each stick measures about 5½” tall x 1½” thick x 2¼” wide. The Cap is about 1¼” tall and the base is about 1” tall, the balance houses the deodorant. Deodorant stick weight? Each deodorant stick weighed in at just a fraction under (4) ounces each and contained (2.6) ounces of solid deodorant. Pull off the cap Underneath the cap of the stick is a clear plastic shield resting on the white in color soft deodorant. The cap is on tight, so I use a firm grip to pull, and the cap will usually slide off the stick, after a tug or two (2) revealing a clear plastic shield resting on the deodorant. Which I remove. Twist the base I twist the base to move the deodorant up or down to desired height for use. I reverse to have the product retract down the stick. Replace the clear shield to maintain the integrity of the product. Use I use a couple of light pressured strokes for desired application. The deodorant is soft and applies nicely. Product aroma? There is no accounting for one’s aroma’s preferences. However, this has basic universal appeal. Whether real or imagined, this has an ever so slight sweet aroma, and the balance is fruity and a slight lemon citrus aroma. It really does not overpower and is effective against personally produced aromas. Effective? Yes. How long? At least the day of use. Effective over a day? Depends on my day. If I am home watching the babies, not venturing outside, not vacuuming what seems to be an acre of carpet or mopping what also seems like a basketball court sized floor, I may pass out before I shower in the evening, I find this carries into the next day. Personal perspiration The proof is in the clothing. Using this, on me, dramatically reduces wetness and aroma. I can get away with not having to wear shields. Personal aroma I think this strongly effective in controlling personal aroma. You may need to experiment on application to dial-in the number of swipes that are the most effective. Softens underarm skin. Yes, whether real or imagined, I thought it did. This product does advertise being enriched with ¼ moisturizers/natural oil to soften skin and I believe it. Glides on smoothly? Yes Do I have sensitive skin? Yes Did this cause me irritation? No (but I have had inflammatory responses with other cheap brands). Stained my clothes? No. But, at certain times, I do wear shields if I have a concern for a particular outfit, otherwise, I do not find stains from the product on my clothing. Active ingredient Aluminum Zirconium Tetrachlorohydrex GLY. Thoughts on active ingredient? There are trade-offs in life. I prefer to make my own intelligent decisions on whether I was to be soaked and stinky, or drier and the aromas I catch are my perfume, rather than armpit. I will take the trade-off of being drier and fresher. So, I am willing to use a product that has an aluminum-based antiperspirant and deodorant agent. Consistency? Smooth and even, not a single lump. Value? The price, at the time of this review, was on par with the other name brand competition and considering the longevity and effectiveness of this product, I think this a good value. Fresh? Yes, I thought so. Expiration was a year or longer. Expiration date? Yes, the expiration date is on the bottom of the stick., here, it was printed as being October 2024. When do I think these were made? Possibly two (2) years prior to expiration. When did I get these? Early February 2023 Would I select again? Of course, Yes, I would select these again. I hope my thoughts were informative.
