Great repair product

Fixed poor location of striker plate by licenced contractor. The 4 screws and larger size makes the installation strong.

Looks good, but I didn't use it

I didn't install this plate because it turned out that a plate having a longer latch "slot" was needed to accommodate seasonal shifting of the door within its frame, and the slot in this plate wasn't long enough to accommodate much shifting of the latch position. So, I used a similar plate that had a longer slot. Because I didn't install this plate, I can't comment on its ease of installation nor its durability in use, but I didn't notice any likely issues. The only possible disadvantage that I noticed is that it accepts only four mounting screws (rather than the six used on some similar latch plates) so this one might be easier (quicker) to install, but probably wouldn't give as much security as plates having more mounting screws.

All I can say is WOW

I placed the order for this item based on color and price. When it arrived I was blown away by the quality. I had a problem with the alighment of the deadbolt lock in relation to the factory drilled hole. This extended plate was exactly what I needed. The quality was much greater than I anticipated. I came to realize it was not designed for a deadbolt, but it worked perfectly with my deadbolt,, Our thanks to the seller.

Covers old drillings well

We used this item to cover the original jamb when we installed an old door. The hole had been drilled and enlarged to the point a regular strike wouldn't cover. This item is perfect and elegant looking. We have 4 old doors now and will eventually install this strike on all of them. Very pleased.

An economical way to reinforce a door

The latch strike that comes with a new door knob isn't what I wanted when reinforcing all my outside doors, interior basement access door and safe room door. This product has two holes that allow long screws to reach the stud frame. I just wish they would be available in Venetian Bronze as I had to spray paint two of the ones I received to match the color of the hardware on two of the doors.

Better latch strike

Unsure about the screw quality and size (for the longer screw) but good design generally. It does not match bronze or antique bronze hardware, but I wanted to add a bit more security and the price couldn’t be beat, despite the odd dark brass color. I might upgrade top & bottom screws to #10s.

Pretty, and reasonably sturdy.

Comes with 2 long screws, not 4. I used longer/heavier screws, instead of the ones that came with it. With that change, the door is less vulnerable.

Nice if have old doorway with worn out screw holes

Worked well for old doorway and know that wasn’t “catching.” It’s longer than standard comparable part so worked great for attaching to old used doorway.
