I've been looking for some new board shorts and I prefer longer style boardshorts but have had issues finding some that I liked and were long enough, until I came across these. I'm going on an annual family trip to our lake house in a week and I was down to having just one pair of boardshorts that I've owned for about 4 years now, so I really needed some new shorts, I found these DC Lanai shorts and decide to give them a try. First off, They look great, the colors are bright vibrant and solid. They don't really have any stretch to them, contrary to the claim of 4 way stretch, but thats not a big deal to me. Sizing is true to size, I order size 38 which are a lil big on me, but I expected that, normally I am right in between a size 36 and 38 waist. They are nice and long, they have a 22 inch inseam and they go down just below my knees, and I am just about 6'2", The material is a little on the lighter side, which I am a lil concerned about, I am very active especially at the lake, from wakeboarding, wakesurfing, skiing, all those water sports, everything u could think of doing behind a boat, I do it, and I'm a lil worried about these holdong up to everything I put them thru. I will update this review after I get back from my vacation, but as of know I would give these 4 out of 5 stars. Update After owning these shorts for over a year now and wearing then tons of times, I can honestly say I love these board shorts. Originally I was a lil concerned with how light weight the material was and how they would hold up with all the water sports, wakeboarding, wakesurfing, etc. that I do when I'm at the lake, but these have held up just fine, no rips, no tears, no holes, and the color is still solid bright and vibrant, no fading at all, they look just like the day that I got them. They fit me great, they are pretty long, which is exactly what I wanted. they come down just past my knees and I'm almost 6"2", they're light weight, and dry very fast. The only gripe I have with them is the pocket, they have a decently sized side velcro pocket, that is about midway up on the right leg, but I would prefer a rear pocket instead. Like when I'm wearing these and need n to carry my wallet to run to the store or when I have take the boat to get gas on the lake, I just find it much more comfortable putting my wallet or anything else in my rear pocket instead of a side pocket, it just feels out of place to me on the side, but seriously that is not a big deal at all. Overall these are great shorts, out of all the board shorts that I own these days, this pair is by far my favorite! I would definitely recommend them if ur looking for some new board shorts.
