Lightweight snow boots, great for slim calves

It's hard to find boots of any kind that work for slim calves, so I was glad to find these snow boots--the adjustable lacing allows for a snug fit. In keeping with other reviews, I found that these run small in the foot. I tried 3 sizes and ended up keeping the largest (a full size larger than most of my other boots). For snow boots, they are surprisingly lightweight, and they have a pretty good grip. Note that they do have a more sneaker-like, flexible feel--which seemed different from other snow boots I've had, but which I've decided I like. But if you're looking for a boot that gives you more ankle and foot support, these are probably not for you. I found them warm enough for East Coast city walking; however, on a winter vacation in a colder, snowier mountain setting, my feet (in wool socks) did get cold after some time. Depending on your needs, you may want to account for wearing double socks in your sizing. The gray color is lovely--nice to have a lighter neutral than black that is not brown/taupe. I'm not wild about the look of the faux-fur lining (which is mottled brownish), but that's minor given the many other practical pluses of these boots for me.

My wife needed a new pair of boots, and is limited on selection because she has big calves. These were not only warm but fit her well. She loves them.

I brought this for a vacation in San Francisco, it was very coldddd, this boot was so warm and comfortable, it did the job!

Like wearing sneakers

These were like I had running sneakers on. So comfortable. I went up a half a size and it was a perfect fit. I wore them in the snow for 6 hours and was warm. Love these shoes!

Not what I expected on my own feet.

It’s hard to pinpoint what exactly I didn’t like about these boots. I have average width, size 5.5 feet. (Very nice that they carry small sizes). The fit was tight and the toe box is elevated so you kind of rock back and forth an a flat surface. Strange. It didn’t make walking any easier so I couldn’t understand why they designed it that way. The lacing style looked cool on the photos, but on me, looked busy and somehow over-designed. I returned them and am still looking for a nice-looking snow boot.

Really nice Boots!

First off, hats off to Amazon for the super fast delivery- I was expecting it tomorrow but got it today (my feet are very sensitive to the fall cold these days and ache). Just got my pair today and they feel really nice on the inside. The only downside is like the others have said is the boot tends to be a little snug in the feet area. I have size 5.5 feet and got a 6 because I'd like to wear thick socks with them; they fit with light socks, have about 1/2- 3/4 inch of free space in the toe region and the sides are a bit snug. I walked around in them and they seem to have loosen a bit to where it doesn't feel as tight- more walking should loosen them out. I wore them around for about 15 minutes and then took them off; the inside of the boot was fairly warm so it does trap heat in like it claims. Its only fall at the time of this review so I haven't tested its -32C rating yet. In my experience with Colombia omni-heat products [I have the Heavenly Hooded Omni-Heat late fall/early winter jacket as well- which is why I got these boots because omni-heat is my bff]. the omni-heat does lock in a lot of heat/block out wind and its lightweight so you can add extra layers [I add a Marmot down puffer under my Heavenly Hooded jacket in extreme winter]. I imagine once I "wear" in these boots, I can add more sock layers if its extra chilly. The soles are removable (which I love- easy cleaning) and are of a medium memory foam like density, very comfy and they look so adorable on my little feet! Glad I found them!

sizing in review, although Id find a better pair .... !!

To note, most of my previous Columbia footwear has come up large, in fact all of them have and ive had to order a size bigger. so i did the same here ..... strangely these are true to size, so mine were too big. Ive then had to return them at the cost of just over £17 to slovakia. Another thing noted, they were quite narrow, so i dread to think if id actually got the right size how narrow they would have actually been. Also i found the sole wasnt very supportive, grip yes, but was thinner than expected and I could feel the ground to a point. Personally i dont think these are as good as the previous models of this style of boot. so, to summerize.... order your usual size, and beware if you have wide feet. EDIT - October 2021 - 3 months after original order my return has been going backwards and forwards. £17 extra to return and the seller refused the parcel when delivery was attempted. Sellers like this shouldnt be allowed on Amazon. Look elsewehere, and think twice about buying these !!

Very narrow and half a size smaller then they say.

Very VERY narrow, but stretched just enough for me to keep them. I walked around the house for about an hour to see if I'd get feeling in my toes again lol and it worked. They were very cold when they arrived and warmth seemed to make them give a bit. The sellers should tell people they are quite narrow to be fair to the buyers. It dosnt feel good when you sit and wait for a couple days and find out what you bought wasnt described or measured properly. I'm glad I bought an 8.5 instead of and 8 because they just fit the length perfectly. Nice colour. The grip on the bottom is good non slip. After all that I am glad I bought them just be warned they are quite narrow.

Excellent boots

These boots are perfect for winter. Comfortable and lightweight. They have very good traction on snowy icy conditions.
