A smart, comfortable take on the classic work shoe

If your job involves physical labor - mechanic, carpenter, warehouse person, plumber, electrician, home handy person etc., - you probably wear work shoes or boots. You need a tough, comfortable shoe with a grippy sole. These shoes are a smart take on the classic work shoe. I like them for the way they fit (I'm an 11 1/2 and they fit perfectly) and (I'm a little vain) I like the way they look. The sole is grippy so damp floors are less of an issue. But the real reason I like these shoes is that they are not heavy like traditional work shoes. My first pair of leather work shoes (I wore them in the garage when I worked on my cars) and always thought that they were too heavy. These shoes definitely are a lot lighter - important for me for hours or work on my feet (I wore them this past Sunday while I got the generator and show blower ready for the predicted 2 foot snow storm). I normally wear a heavy pair of work shoes and can't wait to get them off when I leave the garage. I left these on for hours in the house because they were "regular" shoe comfortable. Two reasons for the 4 star and not a 5 star review. First, they do not have steel-toe protection. Some shops require them and these would not work in that environment. And second, the arch support is a little low for my feet. I will get an arch support at the drug store to make them even more comfortable. Overall, these are a quality product - the brand - Carhartt - is a highly reputable company so I expect these shoes will deliver long life. The price reflects the value too. These are my new yard work and garage maintenance shoes, retiring the heavy leather shoes immediately. Recommended

Comfort & Protection

If you find construction boots to be a little too heavy, this sneaker is a good alternative. It's fairly lightweight, stylish and comfortable to wear. There's a honeycomb pattern on the sides that really adds to the overall design. The gold/orange accents are a nice contrast to the black. These shoes have all of the craftsmanship you expect from Carhartt. The fit is true to size. I highly recommend this shoe. Thanks so much for taking the time to read this review. SO SO Comfortable

These are amazingly comfortable. They could easily be just casual shoes or work shoes. Great Carhartt build.
