The wide mouth container is easy to drink from and add flavoring veggies to. It seals well and does not leak. A bottle brush is the cleaning tool og choice.

My Favorite Water Bottle.

My favorite water bottle. The 1L wide mouth Nalgene is perfect size imo, tradeoff is it doesn’t fit in cupholders. But I’ve taken this bottle with me everywhere, all day for the last five years and that’s the only complaint I have about this water bottle. And I don’t even want that to change because the wide base means it never falls over when i set it down or bump it. Never leaks, never have broken one. Only have to buy new one when I lose one, my fault. Best water bottle ever.

Product Review: Nalgene 32oz Wide Mouth Sustain Water Bottle

The Nalgene 32oz Wide Mouth Sustain Water Bottle, which I will simply refer to as “the Nalgene,” holds a special place in the hearts of hikers, campers, athletes, and water drinkers alike. The Nalgene is as simple as a water bottle can be: a plastic cylinder with a diameter of 3.5 inches, with approximate volume markings on one side and an optional logo or customization on the other. At the top, the cylinder tapers in slightly to an opening of 2.5 inches in diameter, and when not in use, covered by a simple screw on cap. The cap is perforated on the rim for grip and attached to the bottle with a removable plastic strip to make for easy washing. That is all. So, if the Nalgene is so simple, why is it so iconic and popular? One word: indestructible. The Nalgene is known for withstanding even the toughest trials, such as falling down a rock slope, being hurled by small children, or even being dropped off the top shelf. The Nalgene is, in fact, one of the few items banned from Kingswood Camp For Boys’ (at which I am a counselor) annual egg drop competition, as an egg in the Nalgene is safer than the gold bars at Fort Knox. The Nalgene is only 6.25oz in weight when empty, and one may wonder how such a light bottle can withstand massive amounts of force. The answer lies in Tritan plastic, which is BPA-free and, when woven into Nalgene’s signature semi-buttress threads, is near-unbreakable. “Great designers produce pleasurable experiences” (Norman 10), and nothing is more pleasurable than tossing your bottle from across the field towards your equipment and having full confidence that it will be safe. There is one aspect of the Nalgene’s design, however, that can leave the owner pleasureless if not careful. The mouth of the bottle is too big. But only sometimes. As the Nalgene lacks a tapered opening or straw for sipping, the user must become accustomed to either gulping or using a steady hand. The half inch of taper on all sides from main bottle to the opening does little to prevent the water from spilling out, therefore forcing the drinker to stop walking, especially when the bottle is full. And definitely no stairs. I’ve made that mistake, and ended up with a see-through white tee. As Norman writes, “Feedback must be immediate: even a delay of a tenth of a second can be disconcerting” (Norman 23). Of all products I’ve used, the Nalgene’s one lapse in design has had the most instant, and cold, feedback I’ve experienced. Once the user gets that first instance of immediate feedback, though, the design is incredibly user friendly and makes for great bottle-tossing fun. Best bottles since the 90s

This Nalgene bottle was purchased to replace one I’ve had since the 90s. My husband has been using non stop, including in the freezer… probably shouldn’t do that, but 30years of abuse before it finally cracked is pretty good. Easy to clean, I believe the material is mould resistant, no leaking issues and durable.
