Decent alarm clock, but with painfully bright light

The clock performs well. The dial is easy to read, with large numbers. When illuminated, the dial is more visible than the hands, which is somewhat bothersome. The alarm switch is on the side, which I find more convenient than a switch on the back. My main gripe was with the illumination light, which is a very bright blue that hurts the eyes in the middle of the night. I fixed the problem by taking the clock apart and painting a bit of red nail polish and some correction fluid on the LED. The polish changes the color; the correction fluid is opaque, so it reduces the effective size of the LED. Now it's a very pleasant not-too-bright purple. I also painted the hands with phosphorescent paint to help with visibility of the hands. (The clock has glow-in-the-dark paint down the middle of the hands, but it's faint and only visible after illuminating the clock.) For those who don't want buying an alarm clock to turn into a craft project, if bright blue light bothers you I'd suggest choosing another clock. Added 11/25/21: $52 is a ridiculous price for this clock. I paid $28 and thought that was pushing it.

Good, Quality-Made, Accurate Alarm Clock

After ordering several ~$10-cheaper clocks and having been completely disappointed, I decided to go for a recognized brand, one NOT made in Asia. There are many, many, many "pretty," interesting-looking clocks for sale everywhere. But the ones made in Asia don't appear to be made with any quality control. Either did not keep time (or even start) or the screen did not light. Ridiculously sold as actual alarm clocks. I can't believe Amazon would sell such complete time and money wasters. That said, this clock is lovely; looks good, has escalating alarm sound, alarm can be turned off by my 88-yr old Mom with her arthritic hands. One of her priorities was that it not TICK. It is wonderfully silent. She does have a little trouble with reading the face after getting the clock's little light on. 0verall, such a relief to receive a clock that feels solid, looks like quality and actually WORKS!!

Product Quality Lacking.

Lightweight, cheap, plastic alarm clock. “Glass” in front of dial is made of plastic. I am surprised Bulova would sell such a low quality product.
