King of key-chain "squeeze" lights, blindingly bright.
LRI AW Photon LED Keychain Micro-Light, White Beam This is the screwless back, push AND hold version. The one with the screws on the back has a slide switch on the front for locking the beam on. This one turns itself off the second you stop squeezing. LRI also makes an electronic switching version without a mechanical slide switch which will lock on by squeezing alone and includes brightness levels and a flashing mode. The cheapest is this push and hold version. Impressive light output and battery life. I used the slider version to hike out of Half Dome in Yosemite (from top to the Valley) in darkness the from Nevada Fall down to the Valley (NOT along the MIst Trail!). It provided plenty of light and the mechanical slider meant my thumb and finger didn't collapse from constant squeezing. This cheaper squeeze-only version has one outstanding feature besides much lower cost. It is really, really hard to kill the battery accidentally from accidental squeezing in the pocket, from coins, pocket knife, money clip etc., since even if some random pressure activates it, the moment the pressure is released the light turns back off - and constant accidental pressure is unlikely as stuff generally shifts around. Also, it is really really foolproof, I've had some problems with the slider edition. So - the electronically switching version can be turned on accidentally and drain itself. And the slider version is much more expensive, trickier to reassemble after battery change, and generally finicky. That leaves this as the king of emergency key chain lights that won't self-destruct. There's only one small, incredibly minor problem. It takes the harder to find 2016 batteries instead of the easier to find and often cheaper 2032 batteries. It needs dual 2016 batteries. Two 2016 batteries are as thick as one 2032 battery. The cheapest, easiest source of 2016's is Amazon Basics. Tip - if you DO use the 2032 battery, in this, in spare one or older one - you suddenly have a half-as-bright version which is neat for inflight use, where you don't wan't to wake up the whole cabin when you are trying to use the flashlight to find something. I often carry two together, the bright squeeze one with double 2016's and an older slider model with as single 2032 for reading.

Does not stay on without holding button
I would have preferred a constant on switch. Don't like having to continually press the button to illuminate.

Great little light
Had it for a few weeks now, attached to my keyring. Performs well.

Fair LED keychain light, but cover could be more secure.
This is a very lightweight, inexpensive LED keychain light. It doesn't give out a lot of light, but it's enough to locate a key slot or for emergencies. However, the case design is only fair. In some circumstances the the two slim button batteries can pop out in your pocket, and then it is a little difficult to get back together properly. Even putting in new batteries is tricky. The battery is held in place by a circular cover with a very thin rim that snaps in to the case body. The two thin CT-2016 button-cell batteries can bulge very slightly as they age (even if the LED is still bright) and cause the lid to pop off, dumping the batteries. Even replacing them with new batteries, it is tricky to get the lid to snap back in securely and the batteries oriented properly to get the light to function again. There is just a tiny rigid wire coming off the LED base, and if it isn't aligned perfectly over the battery, the light won't work when you snap the cover back on. (The batteries also have to be oriented properly in the same direction, both with positive facing up toward the lid.) I believe there is a more expensive LRI brand LED keychain light that may secure the batteries better and make changing them easier.

works well
I like this, its easy to use, lights an area well, and is lightweight. My only complaint is the one I had for years, had a 2 3 position switch, ie: off, hold for on, or push fwd to lock on. This one only has pusd/hold for on, let go for off. Would be nice to have that hold on switch. but couldn't find one.

Very handy, durable, and reasonably priced. Finally!
I've unfortunately bought several other brands and types of this relatively simple device. And I've paid WAY too much for some of them that broke easily or had other significant problems. This gem works exactly like it promises. Its design is simple and durable, avoiding some of the delicate parts that other LED keychain lights sometimes use. These other lights might look "cooler", but I've found they are prone to breaking (see my other review,Microbeam Flashlight , if you're curious). Most importantly (at least to me), it only lights when I want it to! This may sound like a silly thing to get excited about, but I've found other brands commonly go off in my pocket unintentionally. And some other brands of LEDs have a "leave it on" position. Leaving this small convenience light on when not pushing the button isn't necessary for me. And I've found it just increases the chances of accidentally turning it on in my pocket, only to find that the battery goes dead far before it should. If you only buy one LED keychain light this year, I highly recommend this one. And I've found it makes a simple, useful, and reasonably priced gift also.
