Make sure you do this first!!

I bought the matching Attwood 818440 seat mount to place the Attwood 98505GY seat. I put the seat mount on the Pro-Pole and it was very difficult to get on and very sharp edges. It scratched the plastic inside of the seat mount. I did correct this issue by lightly sanding the top outside edge of the Pro-Pole on my bench sander (120 Grit) and then using 2000 grit emery cloth on the edge. They should have done this during manufacturing... Goes one easily now. Hope this helps people!

Improper Fit

Not certain if these were made without the bottom locking mechanism intentionally or if it’s a bad batch. Regardless this post will not lock into a standard 238 seat base. Don’t really want my casting seat launching through my windshield at 45mph!!

Doesnt fit a 238 seat mount ?!?

This product is advertised and sold in a combo with a 238 seat mount, that I purchased seperately, due to my own seats not fitting the post. I thought my older boat had bigger seat mounts. The BRAND NEW 238 seat mount doensnt fit in the post either. Not even close. Return window has closed as well. Very annoyed and disappointed. UPDATE: I messaged Attwood about the sizing problem. They said a batch of these were made that were missing the milling process for the seat base and lock slot. They are sending me a new post with the correct sizing.

Diameter was wrong and not pre drilled

The OD was to small to fit over the original and it was not pre drilled for latch. Poor quality control.
