Does its job

Perfect size for any kitchen and oven. The handle is just the right size to keep your pizza steady.

So much for American craftsmanship

This peel is the perfect size for my whole wheat pita pockets, artisan breads and mini-pizzas and is much safer and easier to use than the ceramic plate I was using. I'm glad I purchased it. However, they could have put a little more "craft" into this "American Metalcraft" object. The handle is completely unfinished raw wood and lacks a hole for hanging. The aluminum has many sharp edges which I had smooth with a metal file. Lastly they did not remove the blue plastic protective cover before embossing it or securing the handle, so you end up with shreds which are difficult to remove and which can melt/burn (see photo). I guess the American craftsman was too busy to get involved with this one.

Make sure you buy one big enough.

This is very sturdy and well-made. However, I wish I’d bought one with a larger blade. We mostly make personal size pizzas, so I figured the 11 x 11 blade would be plenty big enough. I didn’t allow extra space for the sliding on and off.

Got the 24” pizza peel…

Great pizza peel at 11” inch width for our pizza oven with its 12 1/2” opening. Sturdy and very user friendly turning and pulling out well done personal to small sized pizza’s.

Extremely functional, fantasic buy

21 inch model small. A Terrific product. Very well made a SERIOUS BUY at ~$8. Functionally the actual blade size is 9 x 9-10 inches. Plenty large enough for at least a 12" pizza. Extremely well made. I have owned this & a larger one. Both great. The handle is bare wood. I sanded it lightly & put on urethane/acrylic to seal the handle. I sanded the side edge & sharpened the front edge. I put epoxy on the slight gaps where the handle attaches to make it waterproof but not really needed. The thin blue plastic on the top is to make pizzas slide off, not designed to be removed. Drilling a small hole in the handle & adding a cord allows mounting on a wall.

great pizza peel

I bought the smallest pizza peel for my small outdoor pizza oven. It looks really well made, the flat part is very sturdy, and has 3 rivets that are pretty large that holds it onto the metal handle part that then goes to the wood handle. The angle of the flat part is perfect for sliding pies in and then sliding under them to get them back out. Maybe the only complaint i have is that some of the blue plastic that protects the top of the flat portion of the peel to keep it nice, sticks to the edges of the handle part thats riveted on, so you could have slightly melted plastic if you keep the peel in the oven a bit too long. i'm going to see if i can get the the few spots off, but that's about it that i can complain about. It's perfect!

For Less Than $8, An Excellent Value

Riveting of the connection from the handle to the blade was sloppy-loose, but hammering the edges repaired most of the sloppy wobble. The blue plastic on the top side of the peel was a pain to remove, but for the price, very manageable-forgivable. Recommended for the price, if you're moderately handy to manually tweak the flaws.
