Pond water must be above 50 degrees to use properly.

We have not used it as yet because the water temp must be above 50 degrees. Will let you know once the water is warmer...

Seems to be working, but slowly.

Not much info included on how to use this stuff other than standard broadcast of an amount relative to area treated. It's working very slowly for me in an area which has had organics accumulating for many years. I'd like to know if more is better for a new treatment area and how to keep it maintained once it's clear or almost clear. I'm in the north where it freezes over in the winter, so I'm hoping the clearing doesn't grow over again under the ice. Instructions say to wait until water is over 50 degrees, so it may be late in the spring before I can resume treatment. Don't know how that will affect continued action.

Would Recommend!

We've purchased these a couple times now to help clear some of the muck around our dock and swim area at the lake. We knew there was sand in this area because the adjacent area is sandy (fewer weeds), but had to get through some muck to get to the sand. We've been spreading these pellets per instructions every 3 weeks or so this summer and last and have noticed a difference in the lake bottom at the dock. The area we initially spread last year is now sandy (probably had 3-4 in. of muck), and now we're spreading in other areas as well. It's not a miracle-you do need to follow instructions, then we've been trying to keep up on weed cutting to prevent break-down of organic matter and further muck development. But along with cutting and raking, we'd say these are an essential component of our muck mitigation strategy. We also like that they're natural and safe for swimming, etc. Would recommend!

We bought this muck away for our small 55 acer lake and our shore line. It had a great sandy bottom but nobody did anything with it. I heard about this product from the DNR site. We raked the bottom of the lake on our side because we wanted faster results. The grandkids wouldn’t use the lake because of the muck. It was a lot of work to rake it. But still we couldn’t get all of it so we applied the muck away and in one week you could see a big difference . By the end of the month we could see our neighbors muck was improving also without raking. The key was to make sure the water was warm and you used a lake rake to stir the bottom each day also. The other side of our dock were we didn’t rake also made a huge difference too. I believe our lake shore was improved faster because we worked everyday stirring up the bottom to help the muck away get down deeper. I will say that it took 6 weeks to get it where I wanted it but the grandkids used the lake everyday swimming after that. I will be using it in the future and my neighbors also asked and they too will be getting some.

Clean pond

Product was less in package then I thought. Didn't work well. Possibly needed more products

Questionable

After using the full bucket over the last few months it is questionable as to whether or not it gets rid of muck over time. Surface water was clearer but that was about it.

Have been using this product for over 3 months and I can't tell if it's actually making much of a difference. I think it's helping some, and perhaps the pond I'm using it on (left unmaintained for 15 years) has such a high need for remediation that I'm asking too much of this product, but I will be trying a different brand next to see if there is any apparent difference in outcome.

Waste of money

Have a small pond - followed all the instructions and patiently waited for a change and NOTHING but a hole in my pocket. They had a great sales pitch and I believed them. Foul me once shame on you but foul me twice shame on you. So consider your self warned. They lie

Unfortunately a Waste of money and time

Applied as directed throughout the summer and waited to see results....absolutely no change what so ever still green with no indication it is working really disappointed especially when I am past the return date

Garbage! So much powder!

I purchased this from Atlantic Pond Supply and at least 1/4 of the bucket ended up being powder. Garbage! I took a pic but this website won't let me upload it. I was wondering why I got a good deal. Now I know. I've bought from this companies website before but not through Amazon. This was a first. The previous buckets were split into 2 bags. This one came in 1 big bag so it looks like someone tampered with it. Very disappointed!!

Pleasantly surprised

We purchased Muck Away Pellets- 8 lb, after reading the online reviews. We had just had our pond dug out, and we were looking for a product to help clean up the left over muck at the bottom of the pond. After reading the reviews, we thought that this product would help us get a cleaner and clearer pond. After 4 weeks we are seeing a lot of hungry bacteria activity, and now are starting to see the bottom of the pond. I am excited to see what the results will be after 8 weeks, if our first 4 weeks are anything to go by it should be amazing. So far we are truly impressed with this product.
